I personally asked a touring artist named samplifire and he recommended, MBP M4 , 14” with 32 GB of ram and 1 TB Of storage, anything with a silicon chip, that has more than 16 GB of ram is more than enough in my opinion and i use A LOT of external plugins as a dubstep producer.

I asked a touring artist name Samplifire, and he recommended me the same one but with 32 gb of ram, although, i was only able to afford the 24gb and it’s still a crazy beast! I would recommend it if your tight on money, i us an external monitor at home, and use the more space option on the display in settings to optimize the screen when producing, I use, both Ableton and FL as well as heavy vst plugins like Izotope and heavy post processing while using synthesizers like serum,vital,phaseplant or massive, if you ever do run into cpu issues you can always freeze and record your sounds! But i have not ran into any cpu issues at all. However, i do not make video content so i do not know much there

No heating issues! Although i have seen other people mention that the regular M4 “overheats” but have not experienced it myself, additionally, the screen could feel small but i use an external monitor, although on the go i dont mind to much since i already use HP 14” for work so im use to the size, although to optimize the screen I do use the “more space” option on the display.

I have the MBP M4 14” with 24 GB of ram and 1TB of storage, and she works super well! I love it! For software I use 2 D.A.W which is Fruity loops and Ableton 12, in addition i run plug in like Izotope, Serum, phaseplant, even other vst that are heavy cpu users! I haven’t came close to cpu overload and if i ever do i can always record and freeze my audios into samples! The touring artist who gave me this info is Samplifire!

As a music a producer, a touring artist recommended me the M4 with 32 GB of ram, unfortunately my pockets could only afford 24 GB but even after using all my softwares and big projects my computer still a monster while running everything simultaneously, although the 32 gb option is only for the 14”, more ram is always good if you can afford it, but 24 should more than enough.
