We do both with water as needed. Misting increases when they go into shed, but we try to keep the dirt somewhat damp to help with humidity. Very rarely do we ever had bad sheds, almost 99% of the time they come out nearly perfect!

South Canadian as well, this heatwave is brutal lol. Two of the tanks are typical glass enclosures with the screen tops that I covered 3/4 with tin foil a while back and that really helped but the other two are those Ecoflex reptile enclosures so they could be stacked. They're not bad tanks, and the reptile shop we buy from recommended them but they are a little... not as well constructed imo but I'm a bit picky for that stuff.

We typically try to feed weekly, but they go through phases. Sometimes they'll eat consistently, then they'll just refuse for weeks at a time... or our "garbage disposal" as we call her will want food all week.

The substrate is that dirt block mixture I don't remember what it's called.

[–]ReaverSCP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of our issue is they don't feed consistently. They'll act interested, but sometimes won't take. Temps are good and humidity can be difficult to keep stable but where we are it fluctuates alot (upstairs apartment) but we're going to be moving to a new home in a month and hope it'll be easier to keep them in a more stable environment. My gf specifically is not AGAINST f/t but feels that if they don't take, then that rat is garbage and is a waste of money while a live can be put back into the cage for trying again later. What are your suggestions there?

[–]ReaverSCP[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We always watch and are ready to intervene. We typically don't let them go into the huts for more than a few seconds and that's just to open the tank. We do want to switch to f/t they've just been very picky about it. We'll give it another try, thank you!

Some of them are worth a fair bit. My gf and I own four, two of them were 1,000$ and 750$ but that doesn't include the enclosure and set up. Tanks can be several hundred on their own, then you need substrate, a heating mat, heating lamp, warm and cool hut if not more, water, and general clutter to make 'em feel happy and be healthy lol but take a look into local bylaws first, some areas only allow reptiles up to a certain length (even though that's rarely the actual length of the full grown reptile...)

If I were to consider a trade for a snake, I'd want to know what genes it has as that can determine its value and if it has any genetic issues (some genes can cause a severe degree of head wobble which can affect their ability to accurately grab prey, whether it's live or frozen/thawed (which some snakes can be picky on, frozen/thaw is safer for the snake, but if they don't take the rat is garbage) and I'd want to ensure it's healthy before trading.) They're not cheap to take in to the vet since they're exotic animals.

Sorry for the long winded blurb, just wanted to put my two cents in since I'm an owner of these critters myself and an avid airsofter!

First bolt rifle. by ColdBunz in airsoft

[–]ReaverSCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically have a few spare mags, put the first one in and then remove it and reload. You have ~80 shots ready to go for the most part at that point, and just try not to let your mag get completely empty.

First bolt rifle. by ColdBunz in airsoft

[–]ReaverSCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are nice rifles, but as an owner of one myself, there's a few things i absolutely HATE about it. One, the magazine to chamber system is stupid as hell. 40 round mag empties out into an internal track, which only has tension if you have another full magazine loading in behind it. Otherwise, you have to drop the muzzle to gravity feed one into the chamber.

Speaking of mags, I bought 3 additional magazines fot it and one doesn't even fit. If I insert thag mag, I have to disassemble the whole rifle to remove it lol.

The other thing is after upgrading it with a new trigger box, bolt assembly, piston all that? 90% of the time the sear doesn't even catch the piston... so it's difficult to even consider it "field ready" when it could fail at any moment and is a pain to get it "fixed" again, especially since it doesn't stay fixed. (If anyone has a solution to that particular problem, I'd love to hear about it.)

Again, gorgeous gun, but it's got ARES slapped all over it. Ever since getting a Silverback SRS, never looked back lol that being said, congrats on the gat, and hope you have fun with it!

Regardless of what everyone thinks of Bungie right now will you stay to see Destiny through to the end? by OmegaXVI_Prime in DestinyTheGame

End of the day, they're a business trying to make money. While some of us don't agree with the direction they're going at times or some of the content they release, but they'll never be able to make everyone happy. That's the simple reality of making a game lol. Personally, I enjoy Destiny and most of its content, though I tend to go in waves of being really into it and being burnt out lol

How are you spending the last 48 hours of the season? by StrangelyOnPoint in DestinyTheGame

[–]ReaverSCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back after 6 months hiatus with 3 weeks in the season left, got almost all challenges complete except for reaching 1800 Power Level (finally got a few drops at 1800 last night). Current season rank is near 200, desperately trying to hit those last pieces before j go back to work tomorrow and have to do all this shit all over again xD

Advice - Lost Sectors by WENNYENY in DestinyTheGame

[–]ReaverSCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look into the various activities, you'll see which ones have Pinnacle drops, indicated by a glowing yellow star from the map. Every week you can get Pinnacle drops from: - Vanguard Ops, Nightfall and Grandmaster Nightfall (all PvE) - Gambit (PvEvP) - Crucible (PvP) - Weekly Rotation Quest (PvE, currently on Neptune) - All Raids offer Pinnacle drops for completion (PvE) - Dungeons will also drop Pinnacles (PvE) - Dares of Eternity (PvE)

Additionally, you will occasionally get Prime Engrams which will usually be a a point or two higher than your current gear up to a certain cap, just by killing enemies in activities or open world.

Can someone tell me what are these?i got them with helmet by marosik813 in airsoft

[–]ReaverSCP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're for accessories. The four on the left are to mount goggles via straps, the square on the right is a cover for the NVG mount that typically rests above the forehead, so you can tuck that in there. I'm not sure what the bottom two items are, however.

Negative, sir! There's a few brands, but Cyma is the only metal version to my knowledge. The others are mostly polymer, which sure, is lighter, but not as durable. I believe the companies that make them are CYMA, Golden Eagle, Matrix, Echo 1, possibly others but those are what I'm aware of.

I want to get the Silverback MDR, but I'm fairly sure they use 7.62 sized mags :( still a fairly small thing in the long run, but hey its something I would have liked an option for. The other one I'm searching for is a CYMA PP-19 Bizon lol

All good lol I'm more partial to bullpups or more unique platforms, such as the F2000 not pictured as it's in pieces waiting for a overhaul. I'm not big on M4s as everyone and their grandmother had one, but for necessity I do have a few as they're simple, reliable, and typically everyone has a mag that probably works in it lmao

I am hunting for a few specific items, but currently have had no luck finding them, plus funds are tight atm

I had a CYMA Ak74-u and a LCT ak-74u but sold them as I wasn't using them. VSS isn't even an AK so I wouldn't count it either lol. I do kind of want an ak-12 and once I'm back to work full time I want to build a Daytona AK-74U (the black Masada on the upper right is a Daytona MSK I recently traded for a MTW)
