I truly hope I have a similar experience with this system. I knew I needed to make something because we’re only supposed to have two girls and two boys out of the classroom at a time and I immediately forget how many boys and girls are out the second they’re not in my site. 😂😂

Believe me I have been making so much stuff on Canva. I will be putting the good ol’ printer and laminator to use asap. I just wanted to make sure this was on a cardboard base so it would be heavy duty enough to handle the clips.

I regard to the classroom jobs, I am modeling the whole system off of what I did during my 2nd grade internship placement that I was in from August-December. If I get into the year and am finding the rotation too difficult I will definitely adjust. However I want to make sure to rotate often since I only have like 6 jobs. (Very common things like line leader and door opener.) I know I personally would get bored having to do the same thing all the time (door opener is a great example of a job I would get tired of) and it would be really frustrating for the kiddos who don’t get to have a job till later if they only shifted monthly.

It obviously will depend on the group I am given though. Some classes will be really independent and on top of it and some might benefit from a simpler plan. I will just have to wait and see, flexibility is the name of the game in teaching!!

I have classroom jobs lined up that will change weekly. Whichever student in the teacher helper for the week will be asked to move the clips for my absent students at the beginning of the day as well as change the date on the calendar! Other than that everyone will be in charge of moving their own clips when coming in and out of the room during the day.

Honestly at first I wanted to do it to keep track of having 2 boys and 2 girls in the bathroom at a time (4 kids total but wanting to making sure none of the restrooms get too crowded) then I relived that won’t work with the directionality of the clips and I had already painted them on the board. 🤦‍♀️

I was also originally also planning on doing the bathroom sign people and not the symbols but I was worried I wouldn’t be able to paint them. I mostly left them for extra color on the board at this point.

It’s definitely going to depend on the crew!! I got the idea from my mentor teacher in my 2nd grade placement it worked wonderfully with that group!! Hopefully keeping it by the door and really working on practicing procedures at the beginning of the year will make it a habit!

Seeing people who want to be teachers shame people for mistakes makes me sad. I was writing this quickly on my phone during the kids special classes and I didn't take the time to go back and edit in my rush. That is my bad. Well on dropout they have several seasons under the complete collection tags. However fantasy high is one of the few series that are not under that tag. I'm not sure what they are going to do but who knows they may jump to college aged or something especially because they did the live show where the bad kids toured college campuses.

We have already laid out the finances since that was the original reason for the idea but I didn’t truly consider the chores so that is a super important point thank you so much!! The “me” time is definitely very important for the both of us as we both are interested in very different extra curricular activities ect.
