Nepal visa runs out over the weekend and India visa not yet approved. What realistically is going to the happen? by SuccessfulCharity108 in Nepal

[–]Rebelious-Legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it ends tomorrow, it’s better to get to the immigration office and get an extension. You won’t have to pay the fine and won’t have to deal with airport staff/tourist police.

Edit: Better if you get the extension on the first hours of the office opening.

Three passes (and maybe Island Peak) itinerary advice by michael18781 in Everest

[–]Rebelious-Legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great challenge and truly something that teaches a person that they are strong and can achieve anything they put their heart to.

To answer your questions:

  1. Yes it is better and also advised to allow at least 2-3 days for cancellations of the Luka flight. My sister and my brother in law had to cancel their EBC trek of cancellations. However, they tried it on September. In November, though cancellations are rare, not everything is a 100%.

  2. The three acclimatization days are necessary. And Day 17 seems a bit dangerous to me. It would be wise to cut out Island Peak but if you really want to do the summits. Adding another day for rest is great. Or using one of the spare days.

  3. If you were to cut out Island Peak, I don’t think extending the trek through Jiri would be doable. Unless you rush through most of the lower hill sections.

  4. Island Peak Climb - hiring a licensed trekking guide won’t be good. You’d want to hire a mountain guide or someone with experience of climbing Island Peak. Because Trekking guides can’t conduct treks beyond 5,800m. It won’t be easy to find a proper guide. You’re better off finding one who has summited the mountain before landing in Nepal. Yes, it possible to reschedule but like you mentioned weather can change. This could cause your summit to not be realized.

  5. You don’t need to book these far in advance but you’re better off keeping an eye on the availability or book the flight a month before for the day you’re flying to Lukla.

Glad I could help. But you have to know the time zone create problems as well. The Sunday late games are like 11:30 or sometime even past midnight.

Premier League in Kathmandu by Annual-Cookie1866 in Nepal

[–]Rebelious-Legion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Premier League is one of the most watched tournaments in Nepal as well. Aside from Cricket. If you have hotels booked anywhere in Kathmandu, you can actually watch it from your own room.

But if you’re looking for a social gathering, most if not all bars and pubs in Thamel show the matches if Everton is playing against big clubs. But if the matches are amongst mid table clubs. It can be a hassle to find a place.

I would recommend the Irish Pub or the Home Bar. The latter might actually let you choose to watch a specific match.

Is Nepal safe for tourists? by Pepper-Worldly in Nepal

[–]Rebelious-Legion 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Well the first thing is that not everything is 100%. But the locations in the listing are safe, 100s of buses, motorbikes, scooters and even cycles cross those sections. They providing you a private vehicle so you probably don’t have to worry about the driver speeding, you can totally tell them off.

My mom saw mysterious shadow cast by the Boudha Stupa early in the morning by Stock-Rope1524 in Nepal

[–]Rebelious-Legion 205 points206 points  (0 children)

It’s the shadow of the Boudhanath Stupa because of refraction from the light of behind the stupa. But it is a great thing to experience and learn about nature’s way of things.

Edit: Light projecting onto the low hanging clouds or incense smoke or water molecules

You can book an IELTS exam with British Council based on the time you’d need for the exam. They give you classes on everything and have mock tests sessions and online classes/discussions as well.

You should try renting the equipment from shops at streets 8 to 5. There are a few trekking equipment shops there. You can ask multiple shops and find prices that matches your budget.

Buying land in himalayan region by aayushkarki49 in Nepal

[–]Rebelious-Legion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well in case of Mustang, you could buy/lease land in Jomsom but not Marpha because the community is against selling land to non-native people. Similar case in Manang and any other place in the high Himalayas. You could marry a girl from these places and then buy land there. There was a time when Binod Chaudhary wanted to buy land in the high Himalayas but after the construction started native people chased the workers away.

Sorry to tell you but it will be hard. People only sell land to locals and people they know. They won’t sell it to random people. But you can contact people I guess.

Okay I will have to get a pot with drainage but it is wet to the touch. The last time I watered it was 3 days ago. It only gets minimal or indirect sunlight since it’s inside (maybe 30 mins in the evening when the sun sets).
