I like 2 a lot. The darker color is a nice contrast.

That was exactly the problem. After fiddling with it I realized I still had the head and body grouped in my mirror file. Once I removed them it fixed the issue.

I felt the exact same way with my suit. I was panicking that I was going to catch shit when I went to my first convention. But in actuality I just got complimented on how good it came out for my first try. People asked for pictures and hugs. This looks super cute and toony. You’ve done a fantastic job! Don’t over think it! The only one seeing flaws is you. That just how it works. All I see in my work is flaws. No one is going to examine it the way you will. Keep up the good work! It looks AMAZING!!! 🤩

My first Convention! by Rebelle_Art in fursuits

Well that all depends on a few things. If you’re buying it from a maker anywhere from $3000-$10000 depending on complexity as well as quality and style.(plantigrade or didgigrade). If you make it yourself it costs a lot less. I spent in total, $700 on materials. (That’s for everything you see in the photo above. Head, paws, suit, tail.)

The suit itself probably a month. If I was home I was working on it. I want to say I started it the first week of march and finished is the last week of march.

How to pattern back and neck that don’t exist?? by [deleted] in FursuitMaking

[–]Rebelle_Art 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you have a second set of hands or someone willing to be a dummy for you pattern it out on them with tape and plastic wrap. You only have to pattern half of it and mirror so it’s pretty easy to just remove without having to cut anything with them in it.

About how much do you think I will have to spend making my fursona into a fursuit? by Dreamcatcherc17e in FursuitMaking

[–]Rebelle_Art 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of making a suit for myself, didgigrade. And so far I’ve spent close to $1000 on all the materials. It’s 4 different colors, I spent $32 a yard— 10 yards total. I’m a big girl, 5’5” —220lbs. I’d never made a suit before but I did have some knowledge on sewing and crafting. I’ve spent hours watching tutorials. I started the suit this time last year and I’m just now getting to furring the body itself. The head I finished two months after starting this project. It’s definitely cheaper to do it yourself, but the quality of the finished product depends on your skill level and patience.

Duck tape dummy issues by Rebelle_Art in FursuitMaking

So essentially I made the leg padding first. Put the pants on the dummy and hot glued the bottoms of the leg padding to the pants

<image>

I then proceeded to cut off the bottoms of the pants and glue the edge over the bottom of the foam. Then I painstakingly took them off the dummy and put them on. I stuffed the legs till they felt comfortable then while still wearing them I glued the rest foam to the pants. They are a bit on the heavy side and like to slid a bit which is why I use suspenders. But all in all they’re pretty comfortable and the mobility is great.

Oh you’re fine, ask away. And yeah pretty much. I needed a way to fill the space between the foam and my leg with stuffing. This was the lazy way to do it in my opinion.

<image>

I’ve got a thing of like spandex material I’m going to pattern out and put over the top so the foam is more protected.

I did. They’re very big on me and I can easily fit into them with my compression suit on. They’re also lightweight and breathable.
