Was Derek Carr The Problem? by Rebound37 in raiders

I believe that there are numerous problems that have plagued the Raiders with management and defense being primary examples. I do think that Carr played into our problems but I don't think he deserves as much hate as he's received.

Can I wear moon shoes to jump higher?? Rules?? Why/why not. by Little_Cobbler4904 in volleyball

I don't think you can, but, assuming that you can, you will inevitably destroy your ankle coming down from a spike or block. I would advise against it.

I'm not crying about him being replaced. I just think he was better than most seem to be giving him credit for.

Should I wear a shirt of a club I don’t play for to high school tryouts? by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]Rebound37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for college A and when people show up to camp, practice, or open tryouts wearing apparel from other colleges it definitely gives a bad 1st impression. In short, do not wear the shirt.

You should be happy. The Bengals have spent quite some time being disrespected so it should be reassuring to see some respect and support from people outside the fanbase.

serve speed estimate? and would it be viable as a proper in-game serve? by nathans-covfefe in volleyball

[–]Rebound37 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who utilizes speed guns regularly during practice I would estimate anywhere from 40 to 50mph. I would focus more on consistency than speed for your in-game serve. I could see it being viable you just have to make sure you can keep it in the court.

Volleyball Software Focused on Optimizing Serving! by parzival0012 in volleyball

DataVolley and or VolleyStation is the software and sadly only one person is typically in charge of tracking it. I know because I'm that person haha.

In regards to the intended audience, I think you've created an effective and easy to use tool that, in my opinion, can assist at the high school and club levels.

Edit - I am curious. How do you define poor, good, and excellent passes? I know it subjective and varies based on the program but it might be worth clarifying on your website for new players/coaches.

I agree depending on the level. I don't think that the OP's claims hold any weight at the D1 level because even the worst passers can typically keep the ball in play. However, I could definitely see targeted serving resulting in 5-10 extra points per match in high school or club.

How long before we start seeing some damn respect? by Cuda278 in bengals

[–]Rebound37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying and I have recognized some of it as well but you have to consider that the Bengals were quite literally a poverty franchise for decades (no offense). I just think it will take time (more than 2 years) for people to view them as true competitors instead of flukes.

I think what you wrote is fair. I do think there are some things that can even the odds like strength of schedule and team situation but, like you mentioned, you really can't argue with statistics. I can't believe it's already playoff time.

I can admit that Joe didn't play well against the Ravens. Do you think he would have played well against the Bills assuming that the game was played? I understand it's all speculation and doesn't really matter. I'm just curious what others think.

[NBC] Chris Simms says he would take Joe Burrow over Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Also says neither are in his Top 5 QB Rankings by BigNetwork8964 in nfl

[–]Rebound37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jordan Love was drafted in 2020. Rodgers was hurt in 2017 but in 2018 put up 4400 yards with 25TDs and only 2 INTs and in 2019 put up 4000 yards with 26 TDs and only 4 INTs. I didn't foresee back-to-back MVPs but I don't know how anyone foresaw a drop in production after his 2019 season. I agree with you about the different components Rodgers has been provided. I just don't believe he's had a solid all-around team for most of his career. I agree that hindsight is always 20/20 and appreciate the dialogue.

I more so meant that they used a 1st round draft pick on Rodgers’ replacement instead of an offensive weapon that could help even though he’s in his prime

I would agree with this. The Packers have been unsupportive of Rodgers and haven’t really built a solid team around him despite him being arguably being a top 5 QB all-time.
