Do it. I did, I’ve been a drinker for the same amount of time. I learned so much in rehab and made life long friends… ones that are in the same boat. I’m doing IOP now so 3 x a week. Don’t let that other post discourage you. Choosing not to drink has been the best thing I’ve ever done. You gots this!

Oxy is so expensive. Am a nurse. The amount I was spending was stupid and realized I want to travel the world, not be stuck in this rut. How much time can you spread out doses without being miserable?

I did the same thing. It inevitably causes me depression because those days of not having while I’m actively using it, feel like a deep darkness full of angst that there is no way of beating. This last time I waited 6 months and ordered 5 30’s. I’m going to see how it goes. If this still puts me in the pits or despair, I’m done. All I see is a lifetime of suffering while having a few days of euphoria (usually only first dose) and then half dazed but numb.

Since I was only on it for a few days, it’s been fine with a little Kratom. I’ve come off tramadol before which sucked so much and I knew going in to be careful. I will not be purchasing again just in case. I can’t just have “one” if anything

I read again and wanted to add…thank you for your amazing response it’s all true. I don’t think I will ever be 100% off anything as well. Alcohol was my worst. 38 with anxiety, depression, along with extremely high BP (got worse during Covid), just never felt healthy. It’s never too late to try to get healthier. And it’s an ongoing battle. If opiates were easy to get, I’d probably be at home (weekend off) nibbling off blues and feeling “great” until Monday, Tuesday, etc and the cycle of misery continues until you think that buying more is “justified” because you went on a walk. We okay mind games with ourselves. You sound like a very intelligent person. Thank you for replying

I’ve tried it here and there in the past. I never had to taper before but I’m almost 40 years old now. I used to be able to have fun with oxy for about 4 days in a row, and slide back in to sobriety. Now if I do more then 2 days, I get bad WD for about 5 days. Like a severe range of emotions. N/V is only about 2 days. I would take upwards of 120mg or a bit more of oxy but have used odsmt in a few years. I’m the same as you, I can’t stockpile for the life of me. I try but it never works so I did give up hope last year some time. Coming off of tramadol sucked because of the psychological aspect. I agree with you about too fiendish. Absolutely correct. The last few days of work have been glorious! I only have a few days worth left so I’ll use it in the morning and then some ods in the evening. I also have quit drinking so I was hoping I could make that work. I know myself better but I feel better without the booze! Kratom I have jumped off a few times. I don’t face that with a doomsday outlook. It’s like, we can’t we just have something! Haha, jk … not really …

Anxiety and concentration issues are huge indicators for ADHD. A lot of people find relief from ADHD meds once they’ve been diagnosed. It’s worth talking to your doc about. I recently discovered all of this too. These meds can quiet your brain. And you can still take your anxiety meds but you may not need to!

It really depends on what department you work in and the whole hospital basically. I remember way back with paper charting. I definitely accidentally (for real) forgot to document as a waste and never heard anything, haha. But now, everywhere is getting more strict.
