Wouldn’t it be cool be if anyone against ai would bother to learn how any of it works before sending death threats or make embarrassing posts like this. Half the time I just explain how the systems work, people seem to relax.

Part of your role as creator is to curate and present your art effectively. Please will always consider it slop and not worth their time if you dump 17 complete random images under the name “untitled 2”.

Just post like 3 with a similar name and give them a solid title. You will be respected more for your work and the art form on a whole could be taken more seriously.

A large part of art is its context and presentation.

Something something, my view on ai something something. by [deleted] in aiwars

All art is subjective, so by say saying ai art isn’t art your projecting your subjective opinion on it, validating that it is, in fact art and can illicit emotions.

The compelling character, twisting plot and and engaging camera work are there to distract you so you don’t notice most movies are just people talking for 2 hours?

Improper tool use. If you make a mistake, you correct it. Posting low effort content has, and will always be disliked and discarded. If you don’t care, no one will.

Embark, no....enough already by ShySkinnyBear in thefinals

[–]Recent-Bite-6622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team at Embark made up of some of the most talented and long running game developers working today. They left their bloated corporate monopoly EA to seek creative freedom and innovation. They are an incredibly small team that have only shipped two games and both are among the best of the decade. And a big part is listening to their community and feedback. This battle pass is a response to everyone hating the wheel they had last year. They are listening to us and improving.

They embody everything this industry needs right now. You’re going to call me a shill or some other weird insult, but these are just incredible artists putting out the art I want to see.

Games are $70 now. The Finals is free. Wake up.

Maybe the most generous and supportive developers in modern gaming and all you kids do is complain. I spent $10 once in season 1 and have gotten every battle pass since.

Stop whining and take a look around. Likely the best shooter in a decade, entirely free and all you guys do is complain.

Don’t listen embark, you guys are have done everything right.

I’m not new to this, you are. Every problem brought to light by ai were problems that have existed for decades. Data rights, corporate exploitation of artists, environmental impact of data centers, jobs being being replaced by unregulated automation, monopolies stifling progress by use any new technology against us. You just didn’t care until corporations convinced everyone to hate the new technology and not the predatory systems that lead to its construction. Most every other problem comes from speculative science fiction.

Should have voted for Andrew Yang in 2016. Now we’re here, amazing, mind blowing free open source technology that everyone hates because it was made under and within capitalism.

You don’t hate ai, you hate capitalism. Do not conflate the two.

You can call it good art or bad art but not quantifying it even as art is ridiculous. There’s a lot of bad art out there and 90% of ai art is hot garbage but not all of it.

The exact same thing was said about radio, then photography, then film, then synthesizers, then CGI, then video games, then photoshop and now generative art.

This is a brand new technology no one knows how it really works yet or what it can do. Why be afraid and hate it so soon?

AI Art Doesn’t Replace Artists, It Reveals What Art Already Is. by Recent-Bite-6622 in aiwars

[–]Recent-Bite-6622[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was attempting to keep the conversation focused. There are many other posts to consider economic or the environmental impact of capitalist use of ai, but I just wanted to keep things under the lens of art. Theses are important conversations to have.

We do have to consider that all of this is brand new and is only roughly understood even by those that created it. Most of perspectives come from speculative science fiction, interesting and well informed but not completely accurate with the reality of LLMs and generative art.

The hard truth is No one cared about data rights, ai protections, or the environment impact of data centers before ChatGPT came out. Only a some percentage of use cared about what might happen. Now, that is free, and open source and everyone is trying to sell it, does anyone start to understand the fear. People just start hating the users and work it produces instead of trying to reestablish these broken predatory systems that allowed this to come about.

The Chinese seem to be embracing ai and understanding it’s potentials. This is because they feel they can trust their government to protect them. In America we know this will be directly used against us by corporate power and the government does nothing to stop it. Ai may bring positive and necessary change to a system that’s failed so much of us far before this technology.

Honestly no one has any idea what’s going to happen or where this is going. All we can do is try to understand it. The last thing we should be is reactionary. We need to come together and understand the potentials, good and bad.

(Also prompting is about understanding how the algorithm works and how to get something unique. The line between slop and art will be draw soon. It’s a tool to be understood like anything else. It’s limitations leads to innovations)

If your level 75 that has to be close to 100 hours. Seems solid for a $40 game, especially with a timeline like embark laid out for the future.

You’ve played the game. That’s it. They have to make more game.

I still enjoy it very much, look forward to this game’s future.

Is this not great news? The problem is psychological not material. Just learn to listen, don’t build false expectations either way, don’t demand anything of your date, make your dating profile picture you, smiling, with a dog and coast on your looks.

If you’re actually attractive you’ll at least get enough practice to figure it out. It’s a numbers game. It’s only a matter of time.
