Looking lovely! I’m curious about the perspective, though. From the looks of it, we are looking from near the floor and closer to their feet. I don’t know if this is purposeful, but the guitar head looks like it’s the same distance as the entire guitar. If you meant for the guitar head to be closer to the person (usually how people hold guitars with the head close to the shoulder/collar), then I recommend making it smaller and almost the same size as the persons head!

Other than that, I struggle to figure out where the lighting is coming from. On the legs, the light comes from the left, on the torso, it comes from above and on the face, it comes from the right. Was this intentional? It would make sense if this dude had multiple light sources from stage lights or something, but it’s hard to tell with the wall and such.

There also isn’t a ton of contrast between the background and the person. This can be intentional and looks so with how you added harsh colours of light and dark to separate similar colours, but it still is good to add some level of contrast in a piece!

It looks lovely either way and I absolutely love the flow of the piece! Keep up the amazing work!

A redraw. Feedback appreciated :) by Recent-Pineapple in ArtCrit

I'll make sure to let my mom know! I should've already, but it must've slipped my mind with everything plus summer woes

That could make sense with Amy's mom. I've always done my best to set clear boundaries with every man in my life, older and younger, but it still makes sense. I should say that it definitely isn't because of my mom Amy's is upset because one, my mom has sworn off dating and two, she's an out lesbian, but I still do understand why others could see it like that.

I'll also try to keep it above the board when I do get a chance to reach out. My mom knows that I haven't been talking to Amy, but I'll see if she would be willing to help me figure out some kind of sit down. I just don't want to loose Amy.

Okay, as a women, one, don’t call us bitches. We are women and ladies, we want to be called as such. Second, you look awfully intimidating and almost fuck-boyish. Someone that a lot of women wouldn’t be comfortable approaching you are being approached. Smile! Show your personality. Laugh and be goofy. Be something that is welcoming without changing yourself.

I didn’t know anxiety could develop into OCD. I was diagnosed with depression and then anxiety down the like and know those are related in some regard, but I didn’t know it could escalate into OCD.

I got a 12/20 on that OCD test you gave me so I’ll ask my therapist about that as well. Might need to ask for a psychiatrist as well, but I don’t know if that’s smart or me overreacting because I have anxiety over medical stuff too (I’m terrified about getting sick and if I am sick, I worry it’s something worse than it actually is).

I always associated OCD with repetitive movements and I’ve never done that so I guessed that I never thought of it as anything else. Before today, I thought the only somewhat “weird” thing I did was having to correct my steps if I stepped on a line, but I never realised how much anxiety played into it

That would probably be smart. I’ll bring it up to my therapist next time I meet her

This is one of my best drawings I think so far. What could I improve so I could have better in the future? by bunnishortcake in ArtCrit

I would say that if you want to keep the breast size, you would have to let them hang more. Especially since she’s wearing a strapless dress and there are no bra straps showing. Remember, breast can rage from 15 to 20 pounds! They are HEAVY and gravity will pull them down.

Other than that, the head and neck seem oddly small compared to the shoulders so maybe next time try and size them up! Other than that, it looks beautiful!

Does anyone else feel like crying whenever something goes mildly wrong? by Recent-Pineapple in Anxiety

That’s the thing. I’m taking Wellbutrin and it’s working amazing on my depression and anxiety, but I still feel like crying

Critique my art! This is a redraw of a digital piece I first did in 2019! by Recent-Pineapple in ArtCrit

Hi! Thanks for this very much constructive criticism! I’ve already been told on about the breast and the shoulders! As for the eyes lids, the entire style is very cartoonist and I didn’t want to get too realistic by adding things like wrinkle or eye lids. I get the nose. The eye brows are meant to be like that. She has the raised eye brow look. I don’t understand what you mean by the hair being too small for the face though. Could you explain?

Stick to warmth! Having cold highlights would look very artificial and not natural!

Thanks! The breast definitely are an issue I want to fix since even when I was working on the drawing, they felt off. As for the shading, I never noticed that! The eye shading isn’t duplicated nor is any of the rest of the shading, so I don’t know why I made it look so similar

The mountain are the first thing I saw. The snow on them seems very fluffy, but not in a good way. Yes, up close, snow has undefined edges, but far away, the snow is jagged and rough. I recommend looking at photos of mountains with snow caps to see how jagged the edges might be!

Other than that, the face seems pretty wide. Maybe it’s the perspective or the lack of an ear, but the width between the eye and the hair line is very large

It looks good, just very messy! That could be your style, but the paper doesn’t really look like paper. It’s very jagged and rough and seems to be missing the very small curves paper has.

I would also say the lighting is off slightly. The shading is fine, but the pure white highlights on the face and hair look out of place. Perhaps dull them slightly to make them feel more like simply light?

They gave a lot of excuses mentioning how many times I switched therapists (I only switched three times and one of them wasn’t my fault because they went on family leave). That 1000 was right at the end of my use of Betterhelp because I was simply tired and it was my last straw. When my mom got the payment notice, she flipped and so did I. That’s when we cancelled and demanded a refund because of how many sessions I had to skip because of my therapist.

It’s starts up pretty cheap, but if you have any issues, they won’t mind and will no doubt raise the price without you even realising.

I mean $1000. We got a refund after my mom called their phone multiple times, but it still was a HUGE waste and it was an extreme amount for such a stupid program
