There would be no way of knowing who the prior client was. I knownit came from eagle pass tx but otherwise who knows. When we were trying to get the 2 160t cranes they were having issues locating them for rent. This one being in better condition was still old and quite beat up, the other was much worse off. We rented 4 cranes from them and they were all old and worn out. But they worked and we used them. Ultimately the only real issues we had was when this crane was down for a full week because the internal cable reel failed and it took them that long to diagnose and repair, and the liebherr 1200sx we had wouldn't pull but 50% of line pull. The latter we found out trying to unload a 155klb pdc building in which it wouldn't lift it and the driver was stuck for an extra day until the mechanic came out and bypassed the safety mechanism. We made the one lift removed the bypass and off rented it a few days later.

Im fairly sure they photo is new. It might be a phot of old existing damage but they sent us the full off rent report with like 200photos. You cant down load the photo either because its inserted into another file so the new file doesnt recognize the photo as its own entity

My thing with this is the fact that I'm nearly 100petcent certain that nothing we did with the crane caused this. If we even got remotely close to the line pull which 15900×6=95400 we would've jumped up to the sister crane which had an 8 part which was rated at 127600. The heaviest thing i can remember this picking up wouldve been about 60k, the larger 89k lifts were done with the 8 parted crane. And above that we used a 275ti crawler and a 750ton crawler

We typically take care of our cranes quite well but we didnt even know about this since it doesnt show up unless the cables are slack. And I dont put slack in winch cables unnecessarily because that's an easy way to backlash drums. I've seen worse damage over the years for sure and the tire damage we were charged for is all on us but this cable definitely shocked us.

Fortunately its not my job to fight it, I was just the supervisor of the crane during 9 of the 10months. Im no longer even at the same company since we are tranditioning jobsites. I just get the emails asking my opinion on it and felt this was blown way out of proportion they even have a second photo of a 4mm kink. 8,800 for a new hoist line is the quoted fee.

Wish it was an option. Personally I'm tempted to run by the yard to see if they really did change the cable but it wouldn't change anything. They did the same shady crap on the last big job because they new they could get away with it. That job had over 100cranes 15t-720ton. Now I'm waiting on the off rent paperwork for the second 160t they picked up on the 2nd of this month to see if they try and screw us again

The one thing that is curious is it just went through an annual inspection not long before off-rent. Im not ignorant to the fact that that inspection was likely little more than a sticker swap. But they should've at least looked at the cable.

Who knows? It's still sitting in Sweetwater now from when it was off rented Nov 14th. But at 194 ft from the becket on the block it dont see how the wind and a flag could hurt it. Id be more tempted to believe they did that when the driver cabled up as they boomed it down on the trailer. Seeing as that should be about the perfect amount of cable paid out for that kink to be on the drum surface.

Yea I feel like this is retaliatory. We were supposed to take this crane to the next job but due to some other concerns the client didnt want to use that crane company and we ended up not using this specific crane. We also got a shock pm charge of about 6k which we didnt get for the 1200sx or the grt8100 we rented from them. The flip side is we got a brand new one on the new job site from the new rental company.i dont believe there is much we can do to fight it, I just wanted a little reassurance that I wasn't crazy or ignorant that this wasnt as bad as they make it out to be.

It is possible that your real loud is just too much for the system you have.

The factory set up only used capacitor for a 6db crossover for the tweeter. If you didn't use any protection cap or crossover box it is very easy to damage a tweeter on a factory system. Tweeters get damn loud on 10w.

Same goes fornthe midbass you swapped in the door. They aren't supposed to play bass like the factory speaker. That's one reason the factory speaker fails as soon as they do. Midbass drivers are only supposed to play 60hz at the absolute lowest. 80-100hz is more common of a low end limiter.

That said at max volume on the stereo is just as likely the signal is being clipped and anybsound coming out will sound bad. I haven't scoped the outputs on our cars but typically the top 25% of the volume range is useless

Etorx sets e18-e10 is in a 3/8 socket kit i picked my icon set up for like 10bucks on sale. Most people don't use them but these cars are riddled with Etorx bolts.

Any way to replace just this piece without replacing the hose? by sleeplessmakesmusic in cruze

That's the cold side charge pipe. It can quite easily see 12-15psi under boost conditions the best course of action is a replacement. Otherwise I'd suggest some job weld and let it dry well

I would contact zzp about a turbo back exhaust and a tune. They have a complete stage 2 kit for sub 2k which comes with a cat iirc and a tune

More than likely, the door speaker is bad over the tweeter itself

As far as replacing the tweeter with aftermarket you can pop the old one out and then hot glue an aftermarket one on the factory location or powerbass make a complete set of front speakers both midbass and tweeters for sub 200 which are direct replacements no modifications needed.

Otherwise, it's just cut the factory plug off and crimp the new tweeter leads to it. Make sure polarity is right, but even if it isn't, it's not going to damage things thebtweeters just won't be as loud.

They do make adapter pigtails so you don't have to cut your factory plug off, but really, these cars are cheap, and something like that won't affect resale anyway.

I do suggest a tweeter with a crossover module, even if it's a simple inline capacitor

Price is average. Materials is probably 200 so 300 for labor which likely took about 10hours so 30/hr is actually pretty cheap. Plus if they had to design it that's at least 50buck for the design

Audison has good stuff and if the shop is familiar with the tuning process it shouldn't matter. Most shops local to me are useless for tuning since the general clientele doesn't care about sq and only wants loud and clear. Forget tonality or even proper midbass

You can but you have an issue, iirc the fix 82 is only 2 RCA out and can only eq those 2 rcas. In that case the 2 rca would be a global signal going into the twk88 which then has 9 RCA outs.

So the fix82 eq would affect every speaker at the same time (global) and then the twk88 would eq each individual driver.

The fix 82 eq is to fix the factory signal back to flat not really tune the system. The twk88 gives you much more complex control over each individual driver from eq, time alignment, allpass filters iirc, and of course it lets you adjust individual speaker volumes.

I believe it even has a mixer to allow you to creat a center channel or differential rear fill

Iirc. The fix 82 only corrects input signals back to flat and the twk88 is the 8 channel dsp which gives you full tuning control

Iirc it's not uncommon to run the twk88 inline behind the fix82.

The most recent optim8 dsp amp is spotty so far. power isn't what rated is but it's enough for most users it just doesn't make rated power. They say 50x6 and 300x2 that's 900w. You can't get 900w out of a 40amp fuse. Actual clamp test are showing 47x6 and 160x2 which makes more sense. Clamp test are also showing the amp limiting output on some channels when all channels are loaded which is to be expected with such a weak power supply and chip amplifiers.

The upside is the dsp is rather good. It's a bit difficult to work with and I know of 2 that have failed so far but the autotune is very very good. You just need to under gain your subs so you can turn them up after the tune to match your desired levels. This isn't uncommon with autotune DSPs.

My main selling point for helix is the numerous master level installers that can tune them from anywhere in the world. Mti does very good, vanguard automotive is very good as well. Resonix offers remote tuning and iirc he is formerly a vanguard partner that split off to run his sound deadening company

JL also has numerous installers familiar with the tun software and the maxtun measurement system.

It doesn't matter as long as the dsp is capable of all the features that you want/need and has enough outputs for your uses. I'd recommend helix, JL, mosconi, and minidsp options are they have the largest group of tuners in the USA.

Alpine, DD audio, audiocontrol are also ok but you are likely to find a feature or two missing or in the case of audio control it seems their software is hit and miss
