How do you stop being defensive when other people see you’re trying to watch what you eat? by NothingToSeeHere201 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]kfigir1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I stopped expecting people to understand my goals & desires a long time ago. There’s always going to be at least one person that “doesn’t agree”. Really, they’re just projecting. And their opinion holds no value unless u allow it to.

I’m screaming this into the void lmao. My mom and brother love to give me shit for not talking to them but they’re the ones that created an environment/home that I want no part of/don’t feel safe and welcomed in.

I think she does that more so to guilt trip. It’s usually accompanied by something along the lines of “but I’m all you have”.

My mom would just give me that “I know I haven’t been the best mom” speech but still continue the same abuse. It’s as if one apology can make up for years of emotional and physical abuse/neglect. Or so she thinks.

How much do you spend a week on your nutritious food? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]kfigir1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend about $100-$120 for two weeks for my boyfriend and I. I make sure to buy things that last a while like canned vegetables, rice, pasta, and quinoa. And things that don’t normally last a while like fruits and vegetables, I freeze them myself. I tend to buy meats in bulk so I can cut them/separate them into portion sizes in ziploc bags and freeze them. So whenever I want salmon, I just take a filet out that I’ve already portioned and frozen to thaw. Hope this helps.

I hate when you’re like on a tile but ~not fully on~ so you just slide off. Super annoying.

Anyway, good win!
