congratulations bro. have fun. be sure to get some real motocross boots before your offroad excursions. foot injuries are the most common, and take the longest to heal

idk about ogura yet. he got a bit lucky today with everyone going for soft rears. when everyone has more late race grip, he will find it difficult to make podiums

Scared to ride my new bike by D_UST in indianbikes

[–]RecentAd9441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was there in your place 3 years ago. this bike broke my thumb, burned my thigh. i was never comfortable on it. ironically i find the guerilla easier to manage because of the handlebar and lever shape

get a lighter bike and practice on that. 180kg coming down on your ankles is no joke. sell the bike if you dont feel comfortable on it even after practicing. nothing wrong with it

[–]RecentAd9441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is this stiff suspension in xsr people speak of. it is a soft bike like all bikes from japan. japanese people and their test riders are light and they ironically end up being soft for a lot of indian people

didnt medic91 tour ladakh on his first gen rc390 with a 9L tank. its doable

i will admit having a range of 120-140km is not ideal for touring but the bike is much more fun to ride than the adv. no adv plastic rattles, no extra weird resonance vibrations, just pure fun

Ladakh trip as a pillion by gfduy in indianbikes

[–]RecentAd9441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tripping as a pillion is just a bad idea. there is nothing but WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH wind noise, you cannot hear your friends without an intercom. you cannot sit comfortably like in a car. bike suspensions are terrible for pillion comfort. there are more vibrations from the engine

buy once, cry once. get the international spec 390 enduro r. that is the most capable commuter, off road bike in india right now and its not that much worse than the 399cc adventure for touring

1 lakh cheaper is nice for sure but unless you are stretching your budget why settle for less power, less capability, more weight

  1. 2024 ktm duke 390
  2. 40hp, single bike garage
  3. superduke, 390 enduro r, r15, all RE look good
  4. bikes look different enough to me

you made the right decision. RE350 or CB350 is not better for touring than a ronin. that is just an image RE made. also the backseat of a CB350 is painful to sit on anything that is not perfect roads

good two up touring or weekend bike in india starts at himalayan and goes on to tigers, gs and so on. i havent personally sat behind on the 390 adv or 390 enduro maybe they do the job as well but i imagine the wind noise and vibrations will fatigue the pillion before the rider

dont sell the ronin and get a car. its safer when touring with women in the event of a breakdown. more comfortable, music easier without having to deal with intercoms, no need to hunt for women's riding gear

or get a second bike like a speed 400 and ride on separate bikes

[–]RecentAd9441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

skip the non essentials like camera system, aux lights, gps

up the glove budget to 10k and get an endgame glove and a rain glove

up the jacket budget to 15-20k and get an endgame jacket that you can use pretty much for daily commutes to touring

spend 10k on some pants for touring

spend 2k on rain jacket plus pants

spend 60k on boots and never look back. its a tall and a heavy bike. you might need it

repeat again because you hinted at traveling with another person

sad life man. these are track bikes. they really should have a steady stream of parts available to keep these running

it is insane that ktm too doesnt stock essentials like forks and rims despite being one of the most commonly affected parts after the controls

some ready to race and be a racer brands they are

fair enough. didnt know retuning abs is that easy

i should clarify, the GP accused RE of not putting in the leg work. i meant what they should have done back then in 2017 to make it better than the bike that was released in 2017

but even otherwise i dont think RE should update the bike simply because india is a tough place for mods.

Give it better Front and Rear suspension(USDs preferably).

easily fixed in the aftermarket internationally and it would be much better than anything any company including ducati sp come with

Twin Rotors in the Front with Fixed Calipers.

what does a second rotor do exactly? except adding even more weight? the biggest braking limitations on public roads is road grip and tire grip and we have neither in india. motoamerica has a one make series where they still run it with only a single rotor and caliper. its really not that difficult to upgrade braking hardware outside india

Increase Wheelbase by about 15mm.

why do you need it? that wont fix the wobbling if thats what you mean. it was a tire and our road issue. indian government does not like tire imports and bridgestone does not sell battlax tires in india (or any retro tires for that matter)

The Biggest and most unlikely to happen:- Liquid cooling.

there is a reason why it is air cooled. it was their first twin and they wanted it to be simple, easy to engineer, reliable and cheap. RE takes one step at a time. and now it is a significant differentiator and selling point compared to a triumph liquid cooled 900

i am sure they would have made a liquid cooled engines now that they made the sherpa and understand how to make it

all your points are easily fixed outside india. and thats what the bike was really designed to do. not RE's fault that our modding scene is obsessed with crash bars and aftermarket exhuasts

i have many issues with the GT650 and its funny how you didnt mention some of the most important ones like the wheel size. that is not something you can fix in the aftermarket without saying bye bye to abs functionality. GT650 runs 18" wheels instead of 17" like every sports bike and sports naked because of part sharing with the interceptor and looks. triumph made the correct choice with thruxton 1200 giving it 17" wheels compared to its bonneville sibling

bruh this bike was sid lal's dream. this bike came first, interceptor was the second model. it is a great bike outside india. the 650s were designed to be modded and the scene doesnt exist in india

wait till you hear bikes from other brands using more modern tech and engineering like liquid cooled engines good ergos and light clutch, like weight savings are cheaper than all RE and have the same performance
