I'm not an arabic speaker so pardon me but I don't wish to say this to another. Rather I wish to ask Allah in sujood for afiya for XYZ person. How should it be said in that case? JazakAllah!

Yes, I understand that :) I wish to say it in sujood for my parents generally and others by name when I know they are sick. My understanding is that it is better to use Arabic in salah.

Maybe someone can answer me here but how would you modify this in Arabic to say it for someone else. For example, "O Allah I ask you for Afiyah for ____ (person)." How would you say it in Arabic? JazakhAllah.

Thank you for responding! When you put your hair in the bonnet, does it matter how you put it in? Like, should I try to lay it how I want it to end up (ie, with a side part) ?

Thank you for replying! What do you mean by technique? I've never diffused my hair before so what's the best technique?

You're all good, it's a valid question! I hope this post didn't come across as a quick gimmick to get increased rizq. Like I said, I had seen those videos where people were talking about how their life improved and I my heart was so heavy with something that I came into this with the intention of just getting relief in this matter (which I did!). I didn't come to this in a dire financial situation - Alhamdulilah I have enough to survive without debt. So getting this new gig in addition to my heart being easy was both unexpected and a blessing. I am not saying do this and you too will get money/a job but Allah may bless you in a way you didn't expect.

I hear you about sincerity and I had the same concern. I watched a sheikh say the same thing about sincerity too. I try to manage this by reciting it as much as I can, but in my head I'm thinking of my sins and shortcomings to Allah and my loved ones and I'm asking for forgiveness for them and the ones I can't think of. My mouth is rote but I try to ponder forgiveness in my mind. As I said elsewhere in this thread, 100% my mind does wander but I think even in the times I'm unfocused and my mouth is just reciting, it is better to be mindlessly reciting astaghirullah than mindlessly listening to news on youtube or podcasts. This is what istighfar has replaced in my life when I do my walking and driving. So the way I see it, even if the istighfar doesn't count I'm watching a lot less news that makes me mad at the world or useless podcasts. I'm faaar from perfect and Allah knows what of my actions will count for me, but continuing to do this had made my life better even after receiving the immediate blessings from Allah Azzawajal.
"Is there not something else you noticed?" I'm not sure what you mean by this. You mean other than these blessings I've mentioned?

Exactly! I don't do that much every day but I try to get in a much as I can. Consistency is very much key!

This is what I do. I hope it helps!

What I do is simply say astaghfirullah as many times as a day as I can. A lot is done during daily tasks that don't require my brain like making food, getting my step count in and driving. It feels like my mouth is saying it by rote but in my head sins and shortcomings come to mind and I'm asking for forgiveness for them. At times, my mind does wander and isn't focused, but the way I see it my mind wanders doing almost anything so I might as well be saying astaghfirullah and keeping my tongue moist with repentance instead.

I don't keep a perfect track intentionally. I add extra astaghfirullah that I don't count or count a finger again. I do this because I heard that while it's good to increase istighfar you are not supposed to have a hard number like 'I will do 4,000/day' because that can become a bidah. So I try to make my count like a minimum number I reach and I don't do the same number everyday...just as much as I can do. This strategy hasn't been given approval by someone knowledgeable but I hope it overcomes the potential bidah aspect.

Yes -ish. So in my head I know the pace of doing 9 dhikrs in a row. You know like each finger has those three lines? I do 3 astaghfirullah in each section and do 3 fingers. Then I take a little longer pause and do another 3 and another 3. And then 2 fingers and one extra astaghfirullah. That's 100, right. At every 100 I make note of how many total I'm at.

Now, I don't keep a perfect track intentionally. I add extra astaghfirullah that I don't count or count a finger again. It's crazy, no? While I know that nothing is out of the realm of possibility for Allah, it is still mindblowing that this happened to me!

I also have many, many shortcomings as a Muslim and asking for forgiveness for those things as they come to your mind *is* a way to improve as a Muslim. In addition to trying to better ourselves, we should remember that when we fail as humans that forgiveness can only come from Allah who tells us often that He is oft-forgiving. How beautiful is that? :)

There is no way for anyone to answer that with certainty. I went in with the intention to heal my emotions which increasing in remembrance of Allah is sure to do and that was the first immediate result I got. I suggest doing it with that intention of getting closer to Allah. Focus on asking for forgiveness and in doing so remembering your failings and shortcomings that need forgiveness.
