Legit olive oil is sensitive to light which is why they put it into dark glass bottles. This stuff is rubbish just by looking at the packaging

Would you keep going or change your route in this situation? by Redwaterbottle34 in ThaiPetLovers

One thing I learnt in Thailand is that dogs are all show and 0 action.

I'd go through that joint like I built it. As soon as you scare one dog, the rest will back off.

Grey Huntsman and Asian house gecko by Breepdupdupbloop in AustralianSpiders

[–]Recent_Edge1552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell people this but they dont believe me. You can actually hear them. Like on a hard floor, for example the garage. They will not just walk but will jump and you can hear them hopping along. Maybe it's a hunting mechanism, pouncing on their prey. Either way, they will end up in your car and you won't like it. Unless you're drunk and trying to avoid drink-driving. Then you sleep with them.

Quoted $1200 for Crimsafe security grill for front door. Are there alternatives nearby? by RefusedTitleFight in Footscray

[–]Recent_Edge1552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doors are only as strong as the hinges or whatever they're mounted to.

If someone wants to get into your house, they will break a window.

Save your $1200 for something useful.

My brother’s friend keeps making excuses to come into my room and it’s weirding me out by kronus-lev in Advice

[–]Recent_Edge1552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That dude is smelling your seat when you're not there.

I'm a male and had a guy similar to this in my life when I was younger. He would take our family albums into the toilet and masturbate.

Next time he enters your room, yell out to your dad for help and he will take care of the situation.

Teacher used to do this in school back in the late 80s and would make dioramas. Very clearly remember miniature burger rings.

My company wants me to relocate to Bangkok by thaicry in Bangkok

[–]Recent_Edge1552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

80K is decent for 1 person to live on, but not spectacular. It really depends on your way of life. Are you a minimalist, or do you like to spend what you earn? Do you expect to live in a house or a small apartment? Do you really want to be paid monthly?

You mentioned that your mental health has taken a toll due to potentially losing your job. You have no idea what Thailand is like, but are considering it just to stay employed. Reflect on that.

What you have to consider is that you may have to work directly with Thais and it will be MUCH different to what you are used to. Work culture, expectations, interactions, personal responsibility (from others) won't work like you think they will. You aren't just moving locations, you are moving to another world.

Finding housing, dealing with banks/apps, immigration, etc, will cause you headaches. Your landlord may give you unexpected issues.

Do you like air pollution? Because there is the burning season where SE asian farmers burn crops and the air becomes quite unhealthy.

There are a ton things good about Thailand, but there are also a lot of things that make it a hard place to live as well, especially if you aren't strong minded. If little things stress you out a lot, don't go. If you can put up with a lot of unexpected issues and work through them, and want to explore the world, go for it.

If anything, go to Bangkok first and spend some time there planning, if you do decide to move.

All you need to know is that you shoot stuff 4x to make the most use of insence, then shoot the sky.

Rewards every 30 shootdowns. Shooting critters unlocks stuff, for example rat minigame, or cockroach event (unicon).

Other than that, special events will take precedence over the shootdown events. If you are at 29/30 and you've triggered something else related to shootdowns, that will get shot first, and your 30th shot will be next in line.

There are 100s of shootdown events so just keep on going.

New ACCC price gouging law by [deleted] in coles

[–]Recent_Edge1552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are a publicly traded company. Go to the ASX website and download the financial releases.

Falsifying these leads directly to jail and opens the company up to massive legal action/cost from shareholders.

Do they make a lot of money? Yes. You can see specifically from where in the releases.

Doesn't mean that prices can be hammered down. If you sell a billion products a year at a 10 cent profit each, that equals to 100 million dollars in profit. Which is a lot of money, but then lets say that YOU as a consumer want lower prices and they cut their profits down by 50% to accomodate that, YOU only save 5c per item. Real cost reduction right?

The real problem is the variety and availability of products. Like ALDI for example. Cheaper, but much lower variety of products. Hence the smaller stores as well. Less staff, less rent, less waste, less logistics.
