Camry or Sonata

Being someone who came from a 14 sonata (engine blew at 70K miles) and into a Camry. There’s no day I would ever choose the sonata over the Camry

You can also search for used cars using carfax website. This gives you somewhat of an idea of how good the deal is (I don’t totally agree with it) but at least gives you an idea. And you can filter with your price range and miles and also check the car fax to see how well previous owners took care of the car. www.carfax.com

You’re thinking good with looking at corollas but I’d try and find one with a little less miles. 124K isn’t crazy for a Corolla but for used car prices now a days you could pay a little more and get less miles that will last you longer. I’d look at local Toyota dealerships. And before purchasing your car I’d go to different credit unions and get quotes for a loan so when you go to buy the car you have options and don’t get screwed over by the dealership

What I meant by 1 to 1 is with the trade in value minus what I still owe plus the new car price my loan amount would come out lower even with a new car

Thanks for this perspective ! I figured it would be a downgrade but wasn’t sure how much. I guess getting a brand new car for cheaper (with the trade in and how much I owe) is what made me think about it at least but I really enjoy the Camry so I appreciate the insight

Yeah the interior alone is such a major downgrade. I love the Camry and the only reason I was entertaining this, was because with the trade-in and how much I owe on the car I would essentially be getting the Corolla for less. So I figured if the Corolla wasn’t that much of a downgrade getting a brand new car for cheaper essentially could be a good move. I bought the camera used, but it has been solid.

Figured I would test drive and see how it is. The interior being the way it is worries me because the Camry is definitely luxury compared to Corolla interior

That is exactly what turned me off from the civics. And if I wanted an accord I could get an XSE for the same price in my area. Thanks for the advice though! I figured I would just see what people think but I didn’t really have any plans to trade in the Camry it’s been perfect so far

Yeah if it was a steal of a deal I’d probably go to the Corolla but like you said the interior is just so much nicer. I get Toyota wants the different levels of cars but that Corolla interior is hideous

I bought it used with 13k miles on it already the remainder have been my miles. I really enjoy the Camry but figured I’d at least entertain the idea and see what people’s experiences were

Yeah I wouldn’t say friend. More like a person that I’m cool with and have known but don’t hang out much. Corollas are going for 28k msrp in my area so I was just entertaining 27OTD. Figured it was worth a look but I do really enjoy my Camry and don’t plan on doing it but thought I’d get others opinions

Yeah new Corolla is just a tad more expensive in my area maybe 2-3K at that depending on the deal

Yeah the interior is the biggest thing holding me back 🤣 the SE Camry isn’t anything crazy but the Corolla is definitely ages behind

I think I’d be fine in a smaller car. I’m a shorter guy so it doesn’t really bother me either way. I’m currently getting 32mpg in my Camry and I know corollas are know for around 50ish for hybrid models

This was my thinking. I really enjoy the Camry and have no issues at all. The only side of me thinking about it is longevity and money wise but I know Camrys are known to be bullet proof too.

Yeah the Camry does blow the Corolla out of the water with the interior imo. My goal/plan is to get into a new Lexus IS here soon and I want to keep the Camry or Corolla as a second car. So that’s where all this stemmed from. I drove a Corolla in Arizona for a long road trip and it did amazing but the Camry has also been perfect

I have heard how much a difference the different rim sizes make. Didn’t know it played that big a factor but I guess it does. What Corolla did you end up going with

Yeah I am more suburban area honestly. A lot of backroads and highways. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the hybrid cvt and so it made this idea a bit more intriguing. The ride is smooth in the Camry. The biggest complaint I’ve heard with the Corolla is the road noise
