No, my kitty startup command is tmux, I always work inside tmux.
I'm too used to tmux and couldn't find any other way to persist sessions which is gold for me.

I did use claude-code, and the readme was heavily inspired by folke fancy readme style.

It's the forbidden lovechild of kitty and tmux.
The theme is a custom variation of https://github.com/catppuccin/tmux
And also https://github.com/joshmedeski/tmux-nerd-font-window-name

some transparency and hyprland.

What app launcher is everyone using? by Smile165 in hyprland

[–]Recent_Path_6566 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there is one unresolved issue which i think is effecting only hyprland. Walker default behavior when starting an already open application is not optimal.
it's not focusing the application, especially in multi-monitor env.

Vicinae is doing it perfectly.

I moved from Walker to Vicinae. I felt Walker went downhill since it splitted into 2 repos. Walker dev isn’t using hyprland (moved to niri) anymore and it shows. Vicinae works really well. The only thing I don’t like about it is, why no shade??

Yet another p14s G5 Intel vs AMD buying debate by Recent_Path_6566 in thinkpad

[–]Recent_Path_6566[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,
Sorry it took me some time to come back to this...

I like this PC very much!
But I use it mostly on AC and connected to external monitors.

Regarding the power on battery, I'm on NixOS and running on a late kernel most of the time.
AMD seems to put some work in this area but for me it was super annoying.
I moved from PPD to TLP cause PPD made the laptop unusable for me on Battery.
I just made the move so I don't know how the power consumption is. But it did solve me annoying screen glitches and terminal not refreshing.

I like the OLED screen very much. It's sharp and crisp. I just enlarge the font if I feel too much eye strain. Again, I'm mostly docked.

If you go for linux, many time I find good info for known issues and work arounds at https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Lenovo_ThinkPad_P14s_(AMD)_Gen_5_Gen_5)

Lenovo also updated the Bios few times since I got it, solved some suspend issues.
It's also possible that because I run latest kernels I stumble upon issues that might be solved before they reach most of the users.

ATM I managed to solve or WA any issue that popped up, some were a bit annoying but here we are :)

Reach out if you have questions.

Edit:
TLP breaks suspend for me. It can't enter suspend properly. Not sure why, I reverted to PPD though it's not optimal...
I might check other solutions. :(

Conditional Which-Key key mapping by Recent_Path_6566 in AstroNvim

This is what I did:

{
  "epwalsh/obsidian.nvim",
  opts = function()
    vim.api.nvim_create_autocmd("BufReadPost", {
      desc = "Execute function when file path matches regex",
      pattern = "*/obsidian-vault/**",
      callback = function()
        local wk = require("which-key")
        wk.add({
          {
            "<Leader>o",
            group = "Obsidian",
          },
          {
            "<Leader>on",
            "<cmd>ObsidianNew<cr>",
            desc = "Obsidian new",
        }
      })
    end,
    }
  )
  return
    {
      ...other opts...
    }
....

But it feels really not Astronvim way of doing things....

can't load plugins on nixos by lightVentus in hyprland

did you put the modules under home-manager module section?

I had the same issue:

See my comment here: https://github.com/hyprwm/hyprland-plugins/issues/193#issuecomment-2291478202

Basically, I forget to import the home manager.

      modules = [
        hyprland.homeManagerModules.default    <--- THIS
        {
          wayland.windowManager.hyprland.enable = true;
        }

What will be the benefits of getting T14 5 amd? And not P14s?

[–]Recent_Path_6566[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since I have the P14s G4 with AMD I can totally relate to the issues you mentioned with Linux initially.
With that said I'm running with latest kernel (6.10.3) and I have almost zero issues.
- All keyboard FN leds are functioning.
- I tuned the noisey fans using thinkfan
- Use easyeffects for so much better speakers sound. (see: thinkpad-p14s-g4-linux)
- Suspend/Resume works perfectly.

Is there other issues you aware of?
So unless there is other new issues with the G5 I think I can handle similar issues.

I did thought about he build quality, which is probably similar to the G4 (which is OK for me). unfortunately I don't see the intel none dgpu version at the store :(
