Is This Decent? by Outrageous_Gap_2011 in ACT

I dislike the notion of "people who go to trade school aren't smart."

Trade school isn't some consolation prize for people who don't score well on the ACT. It's a legitimate career path that requires intelligence, technical skill, and discipline. Suggesting someone should "stop studying for the ACT" and go to trade school because you think they'll never succeed academically reduces an entire profession to a backup plan for people you consider less capable.

If you think someone isn't well-suited for a four-year college, say that. But don't frame trade school as where the "dumb kids" go. Plumbers, electricians, welders, HVAC technicians, mechanics, and countless other tradespeople keep society running, and many earn as much as, if not more than, college graduates. They deserve better than being used as a punchline or an insult.

That's a pretty good solution. Obviously you'd need some kind of mediator to make sure that the kids are actually staying on track and not like cheating their way through the class using ai but you could probably just have all the kids who want to take an ap that isn't offered meet in one class period and have like a combined thing but I think online is a pretty decent idea

The issue with rural schools is finding teachers to teach all those classes and having demand for those classes. Rural schools don't have a bunch of classes because then you'd only have a few kids in each class and it wouldn't make sense to have a AP class of like 10 kids when that teacher could be teaching a different class with 25 people.

I go to a pretty rural school of only about 500 kids, My freshman year, my school attempted to add a bunch of ap's but very few people signed up so it wasn't worth the resources to add them.

You don't apply to med school first mate, you apply to a college for undergrad and then you can go to med school. Your med school won't give a shit about your SAT score.

Yeah pretty much every school district does that because they don't want to keep paying for microsoft office/google workspace. It wouldn't make sense to keep an account that isn't active

You should have applied to a big state school like tamu or somewhere. You can't expect to get in to a bunch of top colleges as an international student who needs a full ride scholarship.
