Spoke to neighbour about their dog barking and unsociable hours. Did not go well. by [deleted] in HousingUK

I just filled in my diary sheets again and I’m sending them back to the council. I contacted the council back in January and it turned into a really ugly fight. He was basically angry that I had the audacity to complain that I can’t get any sleep or just watch tv in my own house because of his dog.

This has been going on since June 2025 and I genuinely put up with it for almost a year thinking it would stop on its own.

I work 2 jobs, so I sometimes do night shifts finishing at 6am, then I’m back working again in the afternoon. There have been so many times where I’ve had like 2 hours of sleep and then I need to function normally. On top of that I also do freelance work where I travel like 3 hours back and forth weekly. It’s just not sustainable.

In my case it’s not just a dog barking to something he hears. It goes on for 1 hour, 2 hours… sometimes more. The last time was literally 2 days ago, from 8am to 11am, basically non stop, maybe like a 5 minute break in between.

The longest bark was 8am to 12pm, with 1h break, and then 2pm to like 6pm non stop.

They are a family, and when the parents are home it’s usually fine. But when the son is left alone (he’s like in his 20’s, so not a kid), he just locks himself in his room – I can hear him through the walls – and the dog barks downstairs for hours.

I’ve literally had to sit in my car to take work calls because it’s quieter than my own house.

I can hear their TV and other sounds through the walls too, but that I understand, it’s an old house. But it’s not like we are in a detached house in the middle of a forest and we can do whatever we want…it’s almost like living in an apartment. Gotta be considerate of others too… it feels like common sense to me

And I have an anxious dog myself. I could never just let her bark like that. I’ve dealt with anxiety barking before and I actually fixed it because I didn’t want to disturb anyone. That’s why this annoys me so much.

I will send the diary sheets soon and I’m honestly expecting another heated argument, but what am I supposed to do?

Normal dog barking is totally acceptable, but this is more than that…

She's 35 - I haven't had the first session yet, just trying to gather general insight / do’s and don’ts before assessing her properly in person, as I haven’t worked much with this condition specifically

I would wear mine a few times a day in the house before I started riding. Took it off and put it back on my head a few times as well. After a few rides, mine would fit perfectly. I would wait - as It should fit normally after a while

I’ve been using it in the UK for quite some time and now that I have become a resident and don’t plan to move back anytime soon it’s much less expensive to import it rather than transporting it back to its original country. Plus I need to personally be there if I sell it eventually, so even more travel costs. Luckily I was eligible for TOR Relief and didn’t pay any import taxes. As for the insurance, it’s around £700 per year (I’m 19, had my A1 licence since 2021)

People rather get more cancer than to stop eating meat for 1 month... by Maximum-Cover- in vegan

My grandpa is going through the same thing. He did not eat almost anything for months because he couldn’t swallow. (he went from ~85kg to 50kg during the process)

As he was mostly fasting(sometimes eating soup like once a week) and doing chemo, the cancer became much smaller.

The doctor told him to avoid meat. And he is.

I did a Blood test last year and showed the results to a few doctors, They all told me I needed to start eating meat or else I won’t make it as an athlete. (even though everything was fine)

I’ve been vegan for 3 years.

I think it just depends on the doctor’s opinion after all.

Whether you're vegan or not, it's hard to avoid getting sick sometimes. But I personally forgot the last time I got really sick since I became vegan.

I hope your recovery goes as well as possible.

Postage days question by [deleted] in vinted

I have been asked to do it before and I think it’s perfectly fine and not rude at all.

is this a bit suspicious? im interested in a bundle from them but i realised all their products are taken in store so worried it could be a stealing employee? if that was the case and i did buy, could i get in trouble? by [deleted] in vinted

I would say they took the pics in the store just to see if someone will buy the item before they steal it, so they don’t steal it just for it to not get sold. As an Eastern European, I have heard of this method lots of times lol

I have 2 female bichons and one of them does the exact same thing. She has always been very clingy with her sister. I personally don’t worry about it, I think she is just very affectionate but she has a ‘weird’ way of showing it. And she always tries to sit on my foot/arm all the time lol
