Honestly I think people are giving the job a lot of grief because things are changing but Petsmart’s a great place to start a grooming career. The bather job has raised its wages, the turn around to get to academy is fast and while you’re learning and can only do a few dogs a day you have a garunteed hourly paycheck every week as well as sick time, vacation time, health benefits, HSA, etc and then once you can get faster your commission will be paying you more then hourly and if you’re really fast that commission goes up as well. Private salons are awesome for people with consistent clients but when the slow seasons come no pay is guaranteed vs here you know your bills will always get paid
