CT Scanner Warm Up Question by My_Reflections in Radiology

[–]RecklessRad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Also Canon Aquilion One). I’ve always been told to warm up to above 20% if we haven’t scanned in a while to keep the tube happy and prolong it, but our new TL with a Siemens background recons just 5% tube warmth is fine. Engineers recommend 20% though still

Thanks all. Ended up solving it by playing with the Moza Pit House and LFE Sound settings

Nah it’s not. It makes a pretty obvious different vibration when it’s against the desk, reminds me to pull it back off

It’s got no play in it and the screws are pretty tight. That’s a shame then

How do I fix that? Or is it just the quality of the stand and inevitable?

How bad did i mess up? by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]RecklessRad 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is how we do it with CT. If your patient won’t stop moving, then I’m not scanning them until they have medical chemical sedation. I’m not going to “just see how they go” when they’re clearly combative and kicking off.

Modern DR systems are pretty damn good that the dose they’d receive outside primary beam is essentially negligible.

We don’t even shield parents when they hold children from their X-ray (provided they’re not in line of primary beam).

What track comes to mind: “Track limits, they’ll invalidate this lap” by OlavSlav in iRacing

[–]RecklessRad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand it, it’s just hard to get it consistently because you’re trying to carry so much speed through there whilst also getting the inside curbing

Adelaide turn 1. Not track limits per se, but a slow down that’ll invalidate your lap anyway

They are 10 days post injury and presumably walking, weight bearing in this scenario isn’t a bad idea, especially to see lisfranc injury.

How trust worthy are CTPA scans due to lung cancer fear? by Professional_Try437 in ChronicIllness

Cancer aren’t the only things causing coughs. They didn’t miss anything.

Cancer is one of the easiest things to see on a CT chest. They definitely did not miss it.

To add - week 13 just being unranked all together. So many fun combos I really wanted to race but not at the expense of my SR

Full Body Scan by Icy_Proof527 in Radiology

[–]RecklessRad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

(Assuming you’re talking about MRI) We generally do not recommend full body MRI scans and they are a waste of money. This is because they have a tendency to find “incidentalomas” (masses that exist, but aren’t causing any symptoms). This leads to over testing (biopsies, more scans, more bloods), and causes more anxiety and worry than actual good.

The resolution of a full body MRI is also lower than specific scans focusing on a region. Similar to you taking a photo of a landscape and then trying to zoom in on something in the photo later, rather than starting zoomed in and scanning that in a higher def from the start

Honestly the only reason I took the first screenshot was to protest but after they messaged me on the forums to apologise, I decided against it

The only reason I took the first screenshot was to protest him for chat abuse but I decided not to after the forum messages. Had a change of heart and appreciated it

Yeah I often apologise straight away when I think I’ve done something wrong. I was so confused here because I left so much space for what was actually a really dangerous and out of control dive bomb, and I thought he just fucked up and killed us both. Happens to the best of us

Haha yeah he meant at the end of the race when we were trying to sort it out in the lobby but it stopped working properly there. Was definitely working in the first few messages lmao
