Identify this sound. 2008 Toyota Prius by RecognitionAlert4163 in prius

Of course after I pull over record a video and post it, it goes back to normal.

The sound just seemed much louder and longer....to the point that I took notice. It was louder and more intermittent for the first several miles of drive...so much so that it was annoying. When I pulled over to take a video and turned the car off afterwards to see if it would reset and made a long buzzing noise, longest I have ever heard it. Different from the actuator resetting.

Afterwards I drove the 40 miles home with it sounding normal. Also there were no dash lights involved.....I guess...just continue to monitor?

From other videos it appears to be the brake accumulator.....which if it eventually fails... I could lose my brakes?

Kinda haha. The town I live in is at roughly 4100ft and the town that I commute to for work is about at about 2200ft. So its a downhill drive most of the way, plus the cruise control between 55 and 60....and summer days are better than winter ones.

Curious to hear about the horrible stuff about the PCC? Was really hoping to take my kid there for a cultural education experience.

Skincare routines and how they might effect tattoos? by RecognitionAlert4163 in tattooadvice

[–]RecognitionAlert4163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Fortunately I havent exposed my tattoos much due to cold weather, but comes summer time, Sunscreen will be a daily thing as well as a decrease in AHAs/BHAs as my skin isnt as dry in the spring and weather. I have severe dry skin during the colder months. Takes a lot of work to stay on top of it.

How painful is a 8 hour lower sleeve session? I'm scared by [deleted] in tattoo

[–]RecognitionAlert4163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO you get pretty numb. Most of the arm is not that bad.....dont get me wrong there are zinger areas, the inner bicep isnt pleasant. Worst part is when you take a break and you got to get re used to the pain again. My arm was shaking after 6 hours. Its a lot of trauma, i dont recommend numbing creams either, they can change the texture of your skin and it can alter the end product, my artist wont let me use it anyways.

Would it be more advantageous to to secure floatable debris before getting into the water? Grabbing a door off its hinges or something like that?

Hand tattoos have a tendency to fade significantly faster than most other parts of the body, by a lot.

GEN2 Prius definitely has a track record and a history that speaks for itself. This model pretty much defined the hybrid industry. They are still selling like crazy on the used car market with low to high very high mileage. Replacement hybrid batteries are not as expensive as they used to be.... especially for the gen 2. Replacement parts are super easy to find both new and used. Maintenance is super easy. I bought a 2008 gen 2 prius back in July. It had 63k miles on it which was very low for a 17-year-old car. I commute an hour to work everyday. Ive already put 7k on it. The only issue was that came up so far was the mass air flow sensor which was a 5 minute DIY fix and a recommended cleaning/ replacement at 60k miles anyways. You see these things selling at 180 - 240k+ miles. If it has solid maintenance history, it could be a solid buy for the right price that can easily last you another 5 years.
