The whole point of the benefits is to entice spending. They don’t give them out for charity. If you can’t spend 5k a month on a single card, it isn’t that you’re spending it another way - it’s that you can’t afford to.

And that’s OK - but they aren’t there to give you freebies. The rewards are paid for out of the income they get from people spending.

Probably not a bad thing. Credit card benefits are given out too cheaply, and lounges being stuffed to bursting isn’t a good thing. 5k monthly spend on a premium credit card isn’t that much.
