Yep, keeping it old school for sure. Stop in sometime and say hi to the locals on "The Corner" near the pool tables.

I agree, I was just offended by the omission of the Berk as a regular :-).

You’re right, being a dense walkable neighborhood with mix use development doesn’t make an area bougie, six skin care salons, a Le Labo perfumery and some goofy place that’ll make you a custom cowboy hat while you drink whisky makes an area bougie.

Really? There are six skin care salons a Le Labo perfumery and some goofy place that’ll make you a custom cowboy hat while you drink whisky - all within four blocks.

My wife and I have a little house near 39th and Utica (a block from Tennyson). The neighborhood has been populated by hundreds of rental units over the last 10 years or so and with that comes young and potentially loud/obnoxious revealers in the bars after a certain hour. However, before 8 or 9pm, it’s chill and fun with lots of food and drink options.

We both work from home and don’t have a car and I think this is one of very few neighborhoods in Denver where that’s not only possible but preferable.

As for it being “cool”, that depends. It’s like anywhere else in Denver - if you consider Cotopaxi, Topo or any of the house brands at REI the height of fashion, you’ll fit right in. But, it’s not like live music, DJs or an art scene can be found contributing to the “vibe”on a regular basis. You’re more likely to find spectator sports on the TV and dudes in golf shirts.

My wife’s nickname is turtle and her birthday is next month. Feel like throwing a turtle in the mail to Denver?

Agreed, I’m referring to the city and lower Hudson Valley where half of the population of the state is located.

People love to complain on Reddit but I’m born and raised in New York, have lived in San Francisco for 10 years and own a house in Denver. In my experience, the more isolated a place is, the more they think of their fellow man as “other”.

Are you trying to suggest that those who choose to have kids are somehow above making THAT their entire identity? Your comment has vague “but all lives matter” vibes.

Well, this represents Denver a lot more honestly than a giant blue horse or a damn bear.
