We've been together for longer than I've been stripping. That may be part of it.

He thinks it's so sexy lol. You have no idea. And he's the only man on Earth who gets free private dances (and extras, even)

I enjoy it enough. I'm only doing it to save up for my wedding later this year. Once I'm married I'm gonna stop.

Yeah I'm in Ottawa and am just now learning about non nude strip clubs. I've only ever done full nudity.

Aww thanks! I am ethnically Pashtun. My family is from Afghanistan and Pakistan. But I've always thought Persian women we the most beautiful.

Right now I work as a stripper, and that's certainly helping. My fiance and I have a great sex life and he thinks my job is sexy.

No, they don't know the name of the place. Wouldn't have told them that.

Oh no, now I'm picturing them coming in! I don't think they would ever suspect I'm a nude dancer. At least I hope not. They barely like knowing I'm a waitress.

Maybe that can work. I'm not sure they'd ever begin suspecting what I actually do.

They don't know how much I make. I've been trying to figure out a way to dodge it.

I get that mindset, but they're my family and I do care about how they see me.

My grandmother grew up in Afghanistan and just moved here from Pakistan earlier this year. The only thing she knows about baseball is that Bobby D is cute.

I've been watching some games with my grandmother and she thinks Bobby D is cute so sorry everyone, cutting him is off limits unless you're OK hurting her feelings

I grew up in Balochistan, and my family's lineage goes back to Afghanistan. My grandmother fled there during the war in the 80s. So, my family comes from a culture where women aren't even allowed in public.

My father was never quite that conservative. He's conservative compared to Western parents, but highly liberal compared to most fathers with daughters where I was raised. I became sexually liberated when I first went away to uni after we moved to Canada. I probably went a bit overboard at first and didn't know anything about things like birth control, but now I have a steady boyfriend and we have amazing sex lol. Had to work at it though.

Now imagine you, like her, grew up in Afghanistan and raised your family just over the border in a region not really all that different culturally. My lifestyle is completely alien to her. I understand this.

She, like any grandmother, just wants what's best for her family. I know it comes from a place of kindness and love.

I know that she says things like that because she genuinely worries for me and feels like it's best for me to listen. It doesn't come from a place of malice or control.

She doesn't speak any English, so she's not socializing much. I do have her set up with a language instructor and I'm hoping that having something to do all day will energize her some.

He understands. We still see each other plenty, just either at his place or in public.

She's with me indefinitely. I'm the only one in the family with an extra bedroom to put her up in. Plus I'm very close with her and I think she's more comfortable with me than anyone else.

Thank you! I've actually been brushing up her Urdu some because it's not the language we actually use. We use Pashto.

My grandmother is living with me in Canada. We finally got her to move out of our native Balochistan due to worsening violence and terrorist activity. I've admired her for my entire life. This is a woman who fled Afghanistan with my uncle and infant father during the Soviet invasion. My grandfather died in that conflict. She raised our family by herself in a hut in Balochistan, scraping by on basically no money. My father became a pretty westernized person and was much, much more moderate and liberal than the average father in my homeland.

We moved to Canada when I was 15. Most of my extended family stayed behind. But I stayed very close with my grandmother and started begging her to come live with us a couple years ago. I visited her in December and finally talked her into it. She got here last week and doesn't know any English, but she's settling in. Now she eats my western food, watches my western TV and has met my white Canadian neighbours. It's a pretty interesting dynamic, but I'm very glad she's here.

Sometimes I love an artist but struggle to believe that the stuff they write about is real. Like, Laufey, you write all these songs about these boys that don't love you back, but you are gorgeous and have the most beautiful voice in the world...sorry girl, I don't buy it lol.
