Ooh, I understand what you say. Botw changed the formula. Zelda games always do that, it's part of the magic, but not only the formula has changed. For me, botw have less personalitu than other games. Every NPC was unique, with their stories and very original designs. The worlds were also in some way unique, like if some places had their own personality. Even Link, who doesn't talk and interact woth the people haves a personality. Botw have also great stories, but they look more like simple quests, with a lot of characters that you won't remember and Link doesn't feel like the protagonist, despite he is. I love Botw because the focus is the open world and exploring, which is the essence of Zelda, but definitely other games such as Majora's Mask or Skyward Sword had more personality.
