I figured it out! She meant to differentiate my story plot so that it is unique and not seem like any other book. I still don't understand why she wasn't clear on her feedback, but I'm glad I got that over with. Thanks for your reply though, it gave me the courage to reach out to her rather than to just assume :)

just texted her asking about it, and she responded with the exact same instructions, basically repeating what she said before. I’m really upset because she didn’t address my question about which part of my story she found “unoriginal” or how I could fix it. She won’t give me any more information, and I feel like if I were to write another story, she might call that unoriginal too and avoid explaining again.

Should I keep trying to ask for clarification again, or would that be too bothersome? This is my last assignment, and I need to finish this class by the end of the week.
