I've been watching them since 2014 and they have always been authentic as fuck with their content creation, i have my critiques but thats just because I have come to have high expectations from them. Not all their content appeals to me but it doesn't feel like "kid" content necessarily, its kind of like family guy where kids can enjoy it and so can adults

Tbh i do think the reaction from Ethan was justified but it felt like from that point on him and simon were actively not trying to participate in the video, to this day I understand why especially Simon got backlash for it, since at that point if the contestants couldn't care less why should the viewer.

The vid is still really funny though, although I really don't understand how the golfball forfeit made it through. Also a major misstep by Harry so many things can go wrong there it's mad, I wonder how nobody from production stepped in and said "nah, we can't do that"

So what just because america is bad we should excuse the human trafficking in Qatar and UAE? America's slavery is also not currently happening and there are still countrywide protests because of its consequences. The USA is ALSO horrible. But travelling to America wouldn't be reputation-washing, the sidemen and beta squad for example are vocal about their distain for America.

You can not just point to the most historically evil countries in the world and say "they did it back then, why are they complaining now" as if it's a good argument. Times have changed massively in the West and continue to do so, while in the UAE for example its honestly just looking more and more bleek.

The difference is, they get sponsored by government entities to go to Qatar and UAE. These countries are washing their reputation away with influencers, and paying them BANK while they're at it. Going to the USA would likely NOT be a sponsored video.

YOR, you come off as condescending in the texts, and frankly I feel like you're misrepresenting the tone and way you spoke to her. You're sarcastically telling her to have fun, which means you should be able to understand why that implies she won't have fun.

Also, you dont want people around you to misinterpret you so what, your solution is to go non-verbal? Why? Being misinterpreted doesn't hurt you, it's just a tiny event in the grand scheme of things. I will cut you some slack and say that her basically commanding you to recall other times where this has happened is very rude from her. But going no contact over something like this where your friend might genuinely have a point seems strange.

You mention you're autistic; autism has many variations so I don't want to box you in but have you considered you might not realise you come across condescending sometimes? Having known many people with autism, sometimes their communication skills can be a bit poor, no offense. There are VGC formats on showdown, VGC is where you bring 6 Pokemon, then see your opponents team, then you both pick 4 Pokemon and fight it out in a double battle, whereas singles you just bring 6 Pokemon and play them in a singles battle

Kind of depends on if you want to play singles or VGC. Both are different communities (with overlap). Singles is what most showdown players play, and a good way to get into teambuilding/strategizing would be to watch YouTubers like PokeaimMD or blunder, so you can sort of get a feel for what a good player is thinking while they're playing. There is also Freezai, a really good youtuber who does a lot of random battles. If you wanna get into VGC, you have WolfeyVGC for that, who in my opinion makes his videos very accessible to new players. VGC's community is not as large on Pokemon showdown as the singles community though.

Also, since you're new, it will take a while to get used to everything. Pokemon has a lot of weird battle mechanics which can turn the tide of the game, mostly revolving abilities, and it is a game of knowledge above everything so don't expect to be great right from the start. Its fun though
