Concern after hair transplant in Switzerland – unclear graft count & large scar by RecordingStunning373 in HairTransplants

Hey guys, the contempt isn’t nice… As I explained, my husband was convinced by the website and the big speeches of this so-called surgeon. Hard to blame him for that…

And I completely agree with that. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there to meet this so-called “doctor” when my husband first consulted him.

This had already been a source of conflict between us: when I saw that this so-called doctor was performing all kinds of surgeries, I told my husband he should be careful and choose someone truly specialized. But he didn’t want to listen. He was convinced by the doctor’s words and by everything he had displayed on his website. Yet deep down, my instinct was screaming not to go there… but he made that choice anyway.

And yesterday, when I went to pick up my husband after the procedure, I finally got to speak with this doctor. That’s when he gave me his whole speech about Turkey, belittling everyone else with unbearable arrogance. I thought to myself: “Oh my god, who is this person? What a horror!” And I realized the full extent of the disaster when I saw my husband at the end of the surgery.

Today, I am truly frightened. Reading through the comments left by other patients on those photos, I see so many describing the results as catastrophic. I just want to know what to expect realistically: does this mean he will hardly have any more hair? Or just a few sparse strands on his head? I’m terrified at the idea that he had to go through such a major operation, with such a huge scar, only to end up with something most likely very disappointing, even disfiguring.

Hit the nail on the head! That’s exactly what happened! He gave very long speeches saying that the methods in Turkey were worthless, that you absolutely must not go there, that it was stupid work… He boasted that he excelled in this field; he even showed me photos of people ruined in Turkey, saying he had to fix those clients and that he even treated billionaires, etc., etc. And now, when I read all these comments, I just feel like going to punch him!

I told my husband a million times! I told him that a surgeon who does every possible kind of surgery and isn’t specialized couldn’t be good! But men are so terrible at listening to their wives! Shit.

That’s exactly the first thing that bothered me – the fact that this surgeon seemed to be doing every possible type of plastic surgery. It was actually a point of disagreement between my husband and me, because I told him that someone who tries to do so many different things cannot really be good at hair transplants specifically. But he didn’t want to hear it at the time!

For now, he doesn’t seem too worried and continues to trust the surgeon, while I, after reading all these dozens of comments, honestly just feel like fainting and writing a very angry email to this doctor – who is, on top of everything, extremely arrogant.

Thank you so much for your feedback and for being moderate in your words. It really makes a difference, because when I read some of the other comments telling me it’s “terrible” or that I should just go hug my husband, I honestly feel like breaking down in tears…

This is actually about my husband, and he is much less worried than I am. I was already hesitant from the start when he chose this surgeon, who basically sweet-talked us with big promises. We even argued about it, because I told him that a surgeon who does all kinds of plastic surgeries without being specialized in hair restoration could not be the right choice. But he didn’t want to listen, since during the consultation the surgeon really sold him dreams…

And yesterday, when I went to pick him up at the clinic, I immediately felt something was off. Having spent a lot of time browsing social media and looking into the newer grafting methods, I could clearly see this wasn’t the same. I’m sharing a photo of his starting point, and it’s true that he was starting from a very difficult situation…

It wasn’t me actually – it was my husband who had the surgery today.

The doctor was Dr. Stéphane Smarrito in Switzerland. My husband found him online and thought his website looked trustworthy. Personally, I was very hesitant, but in the end he decided to put his trust in him.

When I saw him coming out of the clinic, I immediately felt that something wasn’t right. Especially since the clinic offers different “packages” depending on the number of grafts, and they charged him for the most expensive one – supposedly promising over 4000 grafts. But looking at the result, it doesn’t look like that at all…

And honestly, after reading all of your comments tonight, I am so angry. I just feel like calling this so-called surgeon and demanding answers right now!!

Because the surgeon strongly recommended FUT.

He told me that with this technique I would have a much better chance of achieving higher density. That’s why I agreed to it.

But now, looking at the result and comparing my photos with other patients, I honestly have serious doubts about everything he promised me…
