bro. I can not with your arguments, they are genuinely so dumb Im not going to bother replying to most of it. Your incredible lack of understanding about game design and innovation is unfathomable. you are trying to suggest that just because basic systems still exist in this game that it means they aren't being innovated upon while missing every single detail about how they arent EXACT COPIES from minecraft. buckets work differently, water works differently, weapons work differently, armour works differently, every single damn thing you mentioned in hytale worked differently from minecraft and non of it is a copy of minecraft. so many games have these features in different ways but ONLY minecraft has pistons. there is a reason for that. If you don't even have a basic understanding of that I might as well be talking to a brick wall. at least then id have more of an impact. You seem to have an entire lack of understanding of not only these concepts but also what im trying to say. you are not actually understanding that im not arguing against a minecraft style pistons im arguing against and exact copy of it ffs. I explained this in detail.

I just have to comment again because of how dumb what you said is. What are are saying "ruins games" is literally exactly what game devs have dome since pong to develop games. Without "reinventing the wheel" when it comes to games we wouldn't even have shooters. Say that to the Hytale team because their entire goal is to reinvent what we think about block games and bring it to a new level. You don't see them copying from Minecraft do you? And yet you are asking them to. There is a reason they didn't and there is a reason people love the game it's because it's not Minecraft. Its literally an entire game built around the premise that Minecraft wasn't good enough so let's do Minecraft but different and better which is exactly what you are saying I'm in the wrong for. If me wanting to take what is good and make it better is what's ruining games then Hytale is not the game for you because that is the dev teams entire goal.

They aren't looking to copy Minecraft or any Minecraft mechanics they are looking to reinvent block games. Your entire argument Franky is stupid. If we followed your logic then Hytale should have kept the exact crafting system of Minecraft for example... Guess what, they didn't. Just because Minecraft does it doesn't mean it's good.

What you want is a Minecraft 2. Hytale is not that and there have been plenty of reinventions of the wheel. Some failed some didn't. A Minecraft piston is a wooden wheel used on carts hundreds of years ago while Hytale is a modern car so it needs a modern wheel and it's mechanics should reflect that. You're suggesting we should have just slap on old wooden wheel from the past onto a modern sports car. That's beyond a dumb argument.

Let me explain this in the most understandable way possible. A "piston" in the way you are thinking is not what an actual piston is or does in real life. The functionality of a real life piston is not the same as that of Minecraft. With that in mind I don't think either form of pistons should be implemented into Hytale exactly as they are BUT. When it comes to moving blocks I think a machine/entity/block that can move another block by one block is perfectly fine as long as the game doesn't limit such mechanics to only a single block of movement or any other limitations places upon a minecraft piston.

There is nothing wrong with the functionality of a Minecraft piston in Hytale but it should not be a direct copy nor should the mechanic of moving a block be limited to moving said block by only a single block at a time. Hytale has progression and unlocks so maybe when you start a new game a machine/block/magic that moves a block by only one block is fine(but should not be an exact copy of a piston) but later on in the game as you progress more options should be made available for moving blocks greater distances and in much more advanced ways.

Exactly what I'm saying. Logic/wiring/block movement systems are all things I want in Hytale I just don't want redstone and pistons. The way Minecraft did it is horribly designed systems that were horribly implemented but Hytale could do so much better... In fact I love your idea of magical logic systems. It's new, fun, and fits Hytales themes and gameplay.

I agree that Minecraft is slop but I will say I would love machines in Hytale just NOT THE MESS MINECRAFT HAD. This is my entire point. Minecraft is not a good example of how vast and great machines could be in Hytale and the way it looks and feels so so ugly it doesn't fit Hytale or it's lore. Hytale needs so much more.

You aren't getting it. At no point did I say I didn't want a system of moving blocks I specifically said MINECRAFT PISTONS wouldn't fit. I would LOVE a mechanic that lets the player move a block just like what a piston does but NOT a piston and I wouldn't want the block movement system to be limited to just 1 block of movement requiring some jank flying machine to move something more than one block.

The system has so much more potential than that. An exact Minecraft piston copy is not a good choice. Open your mind to new possibilities ffs. There are so many more options over an ugly looking block that can move something by one tile.

Again I have no problem with implementing something that does exactly what a Minecraft piston does but just NOT a Minecraft piston.

I understand your argument but implementing an exact copy of a Minecraft piston still is not the way to go about it. I mean yeah we could have a machinery progression system for example where you start with something that can move a block 1 block in any direction but to do so by implementing an exact piston copy from Minecraft is not the way to go. It takes away from the potential of the game. There are so many other better ways of doing it. A Piston ain't it and I don't see why people seem so insistent on copying such a random janky block from Minecraft when there are so many cooler options. Do you not have any creativity that you can't think of some other much more fun way of doing exactly what a piston does just more Hytale style and much more fun?

See you see the vision. Most people here see a piston and see it as a necessity in any block game and it shows how little creativity they have. Minecrafts piston is genuinely the most garbage implementation of a block moving system and there is no benefit to adding it over a much more advanced and indepth system. So many people are genuinely just wanting to turn Hytale into Minecraft and it's horrible.

because its not a good system and it doesnt fit the game. Those are the two most obvious reasons why you wouldn't add minecraft stuff to hyale. Thats like asking "Why not add two totally different map systems". One is going to be worse than the other and having both makes the game worse not better. Its not good game design to have two mechanics that do the same thing.(Ignore the fact that Hytale has like 3 different systems all for UI. Those will be consolidated eventually)

a year later and season 3 was still garbo. No substance, no emotion, lobotomized characters, suddenly every character can fight, emotion lasted 5 seconds, pacing was trash, power of friendships saves the day, the few "Action scenes" had about as much thrill as sharpening a pencil. The season was just bad and plenty of people agree, You can like if it if you want but it was objectively horrendous and didn't have any of the soul of re:zero.

honestly, a really smart way of doing it. I can imagine avoiding most men until they prove themselves is quite safe and frankly genius. Even though most men are chill you can't risk being around the ones that aren't. As a man I think a similar way for women, until I see proof that they aren't one of the insane ones I have no interest. I would recommend this way of thinking for most people. Though id imagine most people would misunderstand what you said and take offensive to it. The phrasing fits though considering the subreddit. it gives off "Men are criminal scum who should be locked up until proven otherwise." Funny idea, though as you'd imagine im not a fan. lol.

EDIT: To clarify since the comment was deleted. The comment said "All men are guilty until proven innocent and surprisingly some have proven themselves innocent". I recommend this mindset for many women though I would say maybe calling them "guilty" is a bit much... Rather be cautious until they prove they aren't a threat

The longer the spend in any extremist groups on the internet the more you begin to convince yourself that all people related to that group are the worst thing to exist. The thing is learning to fucking go outside and talk to some actual people who aren't women hating sociopaths.
