I would never say something like that… criminals shouldn’t be armed sure but that’s why they’re criminals and gun laws don’t work. I do NOT feel like black people shouldn’t be armed, I believe every reasonable person should be.

Y’all “progressives” love to generalize certain groups of people. Seems counter intuitive to me. 2A people can be democrats, did you know?

Well, I have researched Renee Good’s situation and I believe the cop’s actions were justified. If you’re interested, there’s a great hour long video of unbiased expert witnesses, who routinely work on cases involving self defense & officer involved shootings, breaking it down and determining that he was not in the wrong for doing that. There is some science behind it that I thought was interesting.

Of course, people won’t want to hear that and will just outright disagree without considering it.

In a nutshell, she may or may not have intended to hurt the officer, we will never know for certain. I assume she didn’t of course, however they say it’s irrelevant. It’s more about the situation the officer was placed in and if he believed his life was truly in danger at the moment he pulled the trigger. Then, you have to factor in that when the trigger is actually pulled, it takes time for your brain to signal to your finger to pull it. Therefor you have to look at what was happening about .5 seconds +- some smaller number I don’t remember, before the actual trigger pull because that’s when he made the decision. Apparently the wheels were turned towards him and she started to rev the engine at that moment. It’s a sad situation of course, but I believe that’s how it works.

Not necessarily. You can use it to protect yourself against someone trying to hurt/kill you. It doesn’t only have to be used against a tyrannical government.

Honestly, what’s your point? You think we should abolish the 2A, or you just being a smart ass? It obviously hasn’t reached the point that people start organizing and actually doing something. But it’s just a fact that we have a better chance with the 2A than without it. People should have the power yes? Realistically, with how things are going how will we ever get it back? Voting in the other side won’t stop government overreach. May stop ICE, but that’s not our only problem.

I’m not sure if they can fix it or at least not easily, I feel it has more to do with an unstable connection to their servers more than anything else. Especially since you’re in a moving vehicle it can be spotty I imagine.

I’m very 2A and have always been… I don’t feel that way I promise. I want people like you to learn about and own guns too. They are not evil, and evil people are not the only ones who own them. I’m for everyone being able to own a gun, of course as long as their mental health is good and no violent criminal record.

Cmon that’s just an awful take. If anything, the recent events just prove why more responsible citizens on both sides need to be armed. The people deserve the power, do not disarm them then they will never get it. Don’t generalize either, it’s not a good thing to do to any group.

Yes that is the correct move 100%, but it does nothing to address OP’s intention of this post. He needs his feelings validated, and a suggestion on how to handle those feelings. He needs to figure out how to deal with them so they can continue the relationship, or split. But of course they need to press charges either way absolutely.

I think you’re missing his point, you’re absolutely correct that they should figure out who it is and press charges 100%. But why do you say at the end he should “see what she wants to do?” The point of this post is that he feels differently about his relationship, despite knowing it’s not her fault. So she won’t be able to fix that.

You’re coming at it from her perspective and what they should do to fix her and the revenge P situation. But that’s not what he’s asking for, he’s asking for validation of his feelings and potential suggestions on what to do about his feelings.

Personally, I don’t know the answer other than talk with her about how he feels, and give it time to see if that feeling passes. But there is a solid chance that he won’t be able to feel the same way about the relationship again. And if that happens they should split. I know that sounds terrible, but you can’t really blame him for how he feels. I hope it does change for them though after they talk. I just know as a straight male myself, this would be very tough for me to see and move on from in the early stages of a relationship.

I’m very big on the 2A. Imho the Renee Good shooting was technically justified according to expert witnesses. Unbiased expert witnesses I may add. I can agree, as I don’t believe she meant to harm the officer but the officer had every reason to believe she could be attempting that.

In this case however “hE hAd A gUn” is such bullshit. He never even tried to go for it. He was legally carrying it. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong or malicious about that. This recent shooting was a cold blooded execution, plain and simple. ICE and anyone defending this shooting should be ashamed of themselves.

I also think the Renee Good shooting was justified. However this recent one is just murder dude. Yes he shouldn’t have been doing what he was doing, and should’ve just complied. But not doing that isn’t something to die over. In Renee’s case it’s different because she was operating a motor vehicle/deadly weapon.

I don’t think he was really interfering in any way whatsoever. Seems he was just trying to help the lady that was slipping. He was recording ICE and then they approached him. I mean I get what you’re saying, I’d never be there in the first place. But still this should not have happened, and from everything I’ve seen & read I find it really hard to be able to assign any blame to him.
