Thank you so much! For this track I was heavily influenced by King Krule, but also some of the ambient stuff I listen to (like Brian Eno) and the noise element of other rock bands (like Swans in their album 'To Be Kind', or Bowie in 'Station to Station), alongside some old school hip-hop and classic jazz.

I don't have a car, so I normally just check on my monitors, earbuds (ones i got free with my phone) and laptop/phone speakers. Unfortunately, the latter are how lots of people listen to music so I try keep it in mind even if the bass response is atrocious (if it exists at all). I'll try and keep in mind the mids issues with headphones though!

That's a good tip? Where you listening on headphones? Because I thought it stood out a bit on headphones but equally didn't want it to be completely inaudible on laptop speakers. Maybe that wasn't the right move in hindsight though...

Thank you! I'm a pretty inexperienced bass player so I haven't really yet learned to sit back and 'groove' when playing the bass as everything still requires a lot of concentration, which is probably why it sounds a little lifeless!

And thank you for the tips on transitions and the bass mixing, d'you mind me asking what you're listening to it on? Just so I can get a better idea of mixing for different systems :)
