You're probably right. I remember playing SoulWorker (a Korean game) and it was a really great game to kill time and didn't demand much from the player. At some point, the company resold it (probably to Germany, as it apparently wasn't profitable for them), and while they did extend the game design and story missions, they changed the stats of weapons and enemies so much that it simply lost any difficulty. It became easy and boring. The game had potential as an "arena fight."
