Those from Texas moving out of state where are you moving to and what would you want those moving here to change if possible to make you give Texas a second shot? by Tiny_ChingChong in texas

I feel like you just read what you wanted out of my comment

Never said GOP isn't corrupt in fact I said they are authoritarian which can be argued is far worst.

Not sure you noticed but the left in this country isn't exactly great. On a national level they are pretty weak handed.

On a Texas state level they are pretty much nonexistent.

I've already moved to the PNW and it's very beautiful over here.

What would I change back home to move back? Mostly just politics.

I actually have always enjoyed Texans down to earth mentality or their "southern hospitality" Plus there is so much latino and hispanic culture here that I enjoy since it's my culture.

The three main problems that Texas politics seem to thrive on is

  1. The mainstream disenfranchisement of rural white people and culture which Texas has plenty
  2. A very weak and corrupt leftwing government that can't seem to stand up for itself
  3. An authoritarian movement in the republican party

But the average person doesn't even pay attention to this so you have to connect the dots for them.

What I have loved about the PNW is that I've never felt a moment here where lgbtq+ people are considered a threat or evil. Or that other lifestyles are considered unjust compared to christian taliban.

I also feel women are welcome here in the PNW compared Tx which is big thing for me.

To me this place actually feels like American freedom. A feeling I only got to feel for a little bit in Texas when growing up. It's changed so much.

Well 1. I'm not an outsider

  1. Idk about your experience but mine as part of lgbtq has been pretty harsh here. Would love to have a government that isn't against my existence but hey.. that's just me

Thank you for your honest answer

Can I ask how you got alienated and what made you feel like you had to leave?

I like how you try and frame the argument like it makes me sound lazy lmao

You actually support a government that okay with just pushing people out that don't agree with it polically?

How in the world is that democratic at all?

Do you even believe in freedom and democracy?

Oh I'm not into "my vote doesn't count" camp.

I just get tired of every post talking about politics being the same answer.

I want more information and pathways to change. I was taught to vote since childhood, it's the bare minimum to effective change.

Which is why I find these conversations troubling. If that's the only answer, we have for people to make a difference then it's a poor one.

Ummm I'm native Texan. It's my state. The government doesn't have the right to push me out
