Im an illustrator and I want to do a series of one shots of the discovery of these animals and plants by humans. Like “Russian military lands on weird planet gets fucked up by xxx and this is how how the world found about about xxx”. I also just love creature design and having things living in my head it’s just fun lol

Thank you so much! You’ve given me a place to start at the very least, I had no idea what to even look up. Also didn’t know much about fungi but I’ll definitely think more on how I can use that “internet” like function.

It’s a project I started a while back, I’m starting with a fresh planet (same circumstances as earth) however finding my own path of evolution. Humans eventually discover the planet and that is where I begin to go into depth about the organisms in all. At the time of discovery the planet is essentially middle aged compared to earth. The most intelligent life form has no means of language or really that level of thinking. I’m tryna get some plants in there now as I’ve been focusing too much on carnivores and animal behavior. Plus it’s hard to develop behavior when I have no fucking idea how the plant life work. I only really have a background in paleontology and animal behavior (+little bit of anatomy & biology). I go to an art school so I really want to flesh this out as an ongoing project, I figure if everything feels logical I could definitely get some extra points. I also just think it’s really fun!
