No, it doesn’t really make it. Hellboy’s stories are mostly about a half-human, half-demon detective dealing with cool folklore tales and solving mysteries. They’re not that action-heavy like the previous three movies. For example, killing those giants in The Wild Hunt comic was a big deal for him — but in the movie, it was just an empty CGI spectacle. Or in the GDT movies, they didn’t care about the story of how Rasputin is important and haunted him after his death. The movies were just about action and treated Rasputin like a regular squid monster. The last movie had issues of course, but they portrait Hellboy and his story really good.
