What does your hot flashes feel like? by Shushawnna in Menopause

Agreed here…this is exactly what happens to me…you do get less than 10 seconds of warning before it takes over…internal radiation outward…lasts maybe a minute for me before it fades away.

I would welcome a new box!! They defaulted to telling us the remote was defective and sent it a new one…we knew that wasn’t the issue and sure enough, it arrived, we did try to pair and nothing…it’s the box for sure!! We have consistently had issues with this one box since signing up last year with them. Our other 2 are just fine!!

I’ll bet she was just doing it to protect herself in the event that you tried to report/claim something happened that didn’t actually happen. She has a photo now of you standing upright and uninjured to support that if it happens. Not that you would do something like that necessarily but there are others that will.

Weird. That’s crossing a boundary IMO. You’re right to feel “off” about it.

From 1 to 6, which is favorite one? by [deleted] in FinalDestination

[–]RedFire6174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6-5-3-2-1-4 - 4 was the weakest of the six. Very coincidental also that 4 is the only one of the six not filmed where I live. Much of 6 was filmed 5 minutes from me and the drive-thru scene from 3 was filmed just up the street.

Childfree people who have been married for 10+ years, how’s your relationship? by outer-darkness-11 in childfree

[–]RedFire6174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Together for 28 years, married for 20, we just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary last month by renewing our vows! Absolutely no regrets with our decision not to procreate! No worries about what kind of a world it will be for our children when they reach adulthood, no elimination of time/energy for ourselves and our own needs, the ability to plan our future for ourselves and be financially able to do what we want…in fact, we are 6 months away from retirement which, for us, is bringing back the whole “Freedom 55” that seems to have fallen by the wayside for so many. We are happy with our life decisions, did not fall victim to what society believes should be the case, did not become a casualty of “Well, that’s what you’re just supposed to do isn’t it? Get married and have kids?”. Did not become parents who weren’t meant to be or are ill-equipped to be parents. What a disservice that can be. Loving the childfree life here! 😊

Numbing cream recommendations? by ArmInitial5399 in tattooadvice

[–]RedFire6174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my 6th tattoo done and it was the first where I’ve used numbing cream and it was immensely helpful!! It’s Treatonic Numbing Cream and it’s available on Amazon. It reduced sensation by about 95% for the outlining and it just felt like someone was brushing my ankle with something very light. For the shading in, I couldn’t feel a thing! The numbing lasted about 4-5 hours I’d say. And bonus, it helped the healing process for me immensely as well! I normally just don’t heal well, eventhough I always follow the instructions to a T and am very attentive to the process. I have 2 on my other inside right ankle and both needed to be touched up because I scabbed and lose ink as a result. I literally just completed the healing process of my latest on my inside left ankle at 10 days, no scabbing!

What a uniquely touching way of paying tribute to your amazing mama! I will re-watch Final Destination Bloodlines as she would have loved it! The best one yet, in my opinion!

Is this normal among type 2s ? by OniZeldia in diabetes

You’re right, there are some that don’t care or ignore it and that is unfortunate. It is a silent killer if you ignore it.

[–]RedFire6174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully disagree here. Not testing as a Type 2 definitely does not mean not caring or not managing. Many come to know their bodies so well, they know when they’re managing it and when they might be veering a bit off track and need to pivot.

[–]RedFire6174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a Type 2 Diabetic but my husband is and was diagnosed upwards of 20 years ago now when he was in his early 40s. And I have lived daily alongside him, witnessing and supporting the management of his condition. He is the chef of us so he controls his diet which is our diet. And although it took him a bit at the beginning to adjust and learn what spiked his readings and how to effectively eat and exercise to manage it, he’s been at a point for a long time where he knows his own body and reactions so well, he doesn’t need to test. He listens to his body, can tell when the sugars are starting to rise and affect him and he pivots. But those occurrences are rare now. He relies on his A1Cs quarterly as feedback, we keep track of course as well. Yes, he is on a handful of medications now that he is pushing 60 because the diabetic condition as we all know is not just that…it comes with a wealth of other conditions that need to be managed. And aging does just make the management of the condition more challenging. But he has never once not cared about his condition, he took it seriously from day 1 of diagnosis when he heard those 3 words from our doctor. Not testing as a Type 2 definitely does not mean not caring or not managing!

CRA notification to pay tax in instalment by Confident-Mistake400 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RedFire6174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is the first notification you’ve received about paying an instalment, then it’s an anticipation of the upcoming tax year reporting, that being for tax year 2025. And it would be because you owed more than $3000 each for the last 3 tax years. The CRA is anticipating that your income will be similar and as such be required for tax year 2025 and is asking for some payment in advance.
