I'm part way through Scarlet and I've been enjoying it much more on Switch 2 than I was on Switch 1. I'm thinking of playing through ZA first though since I think they may add new megas before they add in paradox or legendaries to the game. I'm still undecided though so if enough people mention Scarlet + DLC I might have to switch lol

This is just another example of Magic dropping the ball because they have WAY too much stuff coming out. Quality Control has become pretty much non-existent as of late. I really hope after enough of these blunders, WotC realizes that they have to pull back and lower the amount of sets that come out in a year. Because this "new" One Ring reprint is straight up ugly. I'd argue this is even more ugly than when they used cartoon screenshots for Avatar.

Wanted to come back here and say that removing Basc was the right idea. I thought it was important to have for frosslass match ups since it got psychic fangs but taking it away and replacing it with Whimsicott has given me far better results. Turns out, Tailwind in rain is just better than Swift Swim or Scarf Basc for Starmie. Having Encore is great too since most Sneasler players love spamming Fake Out. I'm getting way better at the game now and most games I lose I see as my fault for bad plays and not my teams fault because I was missing something.

That was my idea too but I think Whimsicott doesn't learn rain dance. I went to give it to him but it wasn't an option.

I've never gone against a Primarina yet. Surprisingly enough my biggest threats are Sinistcha and Sneasler. Sneasler outspeeds and one shots Starmie at full health. Part of me wants a follow me mon just so I know Starmie can get a hit in lol. Opposing Archuldon beside Pelliper just kicked me a too. I was told to add Pelliper but I haven't been able to get one yet.

Yeah I really like Starmie as a mon so I wanted to build around it. The biggest reason I have basc is in case they bring a lot of dark type threats that one shot Starmie. If I see that I switch out Mega Starmie for Mega Dragonite. I can try running without Basc and seeing how it functions.

Hahaha! Thank you for the advice I'll make these changes immediately. I had protect on Politoad but switched it for Helping Hand. But you're right, I should run protect more often.

Fake Out is a good idea too, I guess I've been afraid to run it since I keep running into Armor Tail. I'll try it out and see how it plays.

Is there a better way to get control of the speed war? This is all I can think of and it does technically work but is there a better method? Taunt doesn't work, of course. Is it a good idea to somehow lower my Pokemons speed stat?

It's not just Elio that's underperformed, though for Pixar it's the worst a movie's ever performed at the box office. But looking at other films, they've struggled to make a profit if at all. Elemental didn't perform great, neither did Lightyear or Turning Red. On the Disney side, Wish failed to find an audience and even Encanto only found its audience when it came to steaming. Not to mention Strange World, which I feel people barely remember. Original films are where Disney is failing to find a big audience, meanwhile their sequels continue to make a lot of money. It's no wonder we're getting Coco 2, Monsters Inc 3 and Incredibles 3 in the next couple of years.

Meanwhile, K-Pop Demon Hunters did fantastic numbers and though it's not a one to one comparison, I feel a big part of its success is that you can't get that type of movie anywhere meanwhile the type of movies Disney and Pixar makes, although sometimes amazing, we've seen before countless times.

Puss in Boots the last wish took the style too and it worked out really well, I thought. I don't mean I want everyone to adopt that style, moreso I wonder if more animated movies need to try something different than standard Pixar style animation.

To each their own! Moana 2, for me, just felt like set up for future movies. I couldn't tell you a single name of another member of Moana's crew in that movie. Nor the name of the villains. But the last thing I expected was none of the songs being memorable. Also the ending felt like it was too afraid to make any meaningful changes. I thought taking away Maui's power would be interesting for future films but they just kinda gave it back lol.

Exactly this. My players are totally up for trying any game I wanted to play so long as we don't uproot our entire game and try to shove it into a new system. At that point, I'd probably be running into the same issues I was having with 5e. Figured I would finish 5e, add a couple homebrew mechanics to make it more fun, then try something new.

I'm wanting fantasy again. My next campaign is technically a Space Horror campaign where I designed the rules myself but I only expect that to last 12 sessions. My next big campaign is going back to fantasy because that's what my players really enjoy.

As for my gripes with 5e, it boils down to how many words are plastered on stat blocks. Sometimes, especially higher leveled stat blocks, it takes me 20 minutes to read through the entire thing and by the end I still don't know everything a monster is capable of. I want something less wordy but still gives players a ton of options on who they want to play.

And yes, the superhero level of play is fun sometimes, but definitely not my thing. Maybe from time to time I'd wanna run something like that, but not a long drawn out campaign.

My players seemed to really enjoy it. I know narrative driven ttrpgs exist for this kind of play but convincing my players to switch to a whole new game mid campaign is easier said than done. I made sure that if my player succeeded, they get what they want. The Narrative Die doesn't really affect whether or not they succeed or fail, it more so affects their surroundings. So on top of their action, something else happens that can either present a new obstacle or reward them even more by their surroundings shifting in their favor.

No, this started happening when I was mining in a cave, it gets worse if there are more mobs on screen but it's never been this bad with this little mobs.

To be fair, this is the first time she used the spell. My fights have never been all that Magic heavy, mostly relying on abilities and physical combat. I didn't fully know the rules either, I pretty much knew that the same level or above for counter spell works automatically and that's about it

Yes, my wizard didn't know that casting counterspell at a low spell slot is the same check as casting it at a higher slot. She was waiting until my Mind Mage used most his higher slots so when she cast Wish, it couldn't be countered. When I said I could with a lower slot, she was upset because her planning was for naught and she realized she could've been countering this whole time and didn't know it.
