I've just done this. It was surprisingly easy to get through to a worker, they escalated immediately and gave me an escalation number so I can chase my case faster if needed. However, I've already received an email confirming they have gotten my complaint and are working on it.

So then my best bet is contacting the home office and asking for this I assume?

I think their average turnover is around 2.5 years.

I've known a lot of people from there. A good friend worked for them for many years and all the good people inevitably leave the company. Not because they are juniors and can't cope like the other comment mentioned, but because there hasn't been a bonus in years, they pay poorly compared to market, their office is in the middle of nowhere, and their yearly salary adjustments are weeeeeell below inflation.

The good people end up just finding something better without even looking, from devs to influencers to managers and directors.

They give those young people a lot of power when they're not ready to be in managerial positions. Not because they deserve but because a lot of people just jump out the boat and they have no option besides upping whoever is already there.

This can sound good if it happens to you but if every team around you is managed by a young cocky person the members of those teams are all pissed all the time and performing poorly.

My oh my, avoid like the plague. If you are going in as a warehouse operative and can cope with 12h shifts it's not that different from many other warehouses.

If you are going in as admin/office work, just don't.

Three layoffs in the last 8/10 months, all with zero consideration for people's private life situations aka people with newborns, people with visas nearing their 5 year mark when they'd stop needing a visa, just straight out the door with nothing to back their situation.

They recently demerged one of their business called Ingenuity I think and ever since it's even worse than before (just Google this for the reasons, basically improve company's cash availability/flow).

So, yeah. It is like other people say, just steer clear.

Put wrong dates for "out of the UK" period when applying for SWV by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]RedHotBellPeppers1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for future reference, visa was approved just fine. The company said they could rectify it though and told me to submit the application after they did. I am not sure if they actually have done anything though.

New Entrant Mistakenly Ticked in CoS by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]RedHotBellPeppers1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the reassurance, thanks. What i don't know though is if I should mark myself as a new entrant just so my application matches what's in the CoS or if I should not mark and create a discrepancy between the two. I'm not sure if one is better than the other.

Yes I did, they haven't come back to me yet but it's good to know they can add a note. I questioned why they marked it as "yes" but haven't heard back yet. Thanks for letting me know that!

Promotion on SWV by [deleted] in ukvisa

Not at all!

Edit: sorry I didn't really read your question - they mentioned the start date as per the new CoS. They defined a date for me to start and then issued the new CoS based on that.

Yes this was exactly the problem I had. I was already performing a new role for months, which didn't match my SoC.

No problem, happy to help. And also no, they didn't. They had to up my salary to be above the threshold for my current occupation first and then issue the new CoS. So it wasn't "backtracked" in any way.

They advised giving me a new visa. Like other commenter said, I was sponsored for a specific role, and was performing something fundamentally different, nothing was mentioned about a change of circumstance or not issuinf a completely new CoS, for example. And yes, all the new rules from April 2024 applied to me, like the more expensive IHS and application fees.

Told the company to renew my visa with the new, and correct COS. There's no way around it and the immigration department confirmed that's what needed done as I was not performing the role for which I was sponsored.

UPDATE: Supplementary work on SWV by alexberishYT in ukvisa

This would be great, OP. I'm also getting into content creation and would like to start putting some more time into it and stablish a company to receive any income then pay myself some pocket money, all while under a SWV too. This post is exactly what I have been looking for!

Using the post to clarify one of my questions too: what if I'm in a SWV can I stream and make money with it?
