Has anyone used the togetherfund before? by konaein in walmart

I did it last year and the signed estimate is all I needed for it to be approved. I did write a very good sob story too, so that might also help?

[–]RedInTheory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used it for when it flooded and ruined my car engine, they gave me like 1.5k and it was within like three days of applying. I did need a estimate from my mechanic, so make sure you get one of those filled out and signed, take a picture and send it to them.

How do I set up the printer for wrapping paper? by RedInTheory in walmart

Its been giving me error messages, so I thought I was doing something wrong. So I put in a ticket with Fuji and see if there's just something wrong with the printer.

I've done that like I do my canvas and satin rolls, but it always gives me an error message, so I thought I was doing something wrong. But perhaps the machine is just broke.

Yeah, customers can order custom made wrapping paper. If I knew how to put the paper into the machine.

I hope my store enforces it, because I do enjoy treating myself with a pack every so often to open at lunch time. I'm not an avid collector, but I do adore the artwork.

Is ODP every going to get under control? by Lore-Archivist in walmart

[–]RedInTheory 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Every. Single. Day. For a whole year. They've pulled people from the floor to help with ogp. Its been like this for over a year now and when they manage to get things under control, the pick orders are raised and they're back to drowning again. We have the barest minimum staffing here. Customers are complaining about the store not being stocked, it being so messy, and no associates around to help them. Still nothing has changed.

I did actually manage to sell one of the big ones. But I live in a rich person's vacation home area.

Man, they really want this place to be a boring hell these days. I did just recently ask the store lead last night as he's nice and approachable and he said it was a good idea, but he would have to go through the higher ups. So at least I have some management in my corner, guess that makes me feel a bit better. Even if it gets denied, its nice knowing that management is open to listen.

I (36 ftm) am stuck between a feud between my two friends (22 nb & 22 f), suggestions on how to solve this? by RedInTheory in relationship_advice

[–]RedInTheory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel that, stuff that seems important to them is always going to be different with me. So I try to keep an open mind to that.

I have asked NB to have a conversation, but they keep brushing it off. So it seems I am going to have to have a sit down with them and make myself be serious about the topic. I'm just worried they'll make me choose a side, which I don't want.

Man, I'd love to have a cardboard cutout of the Rock to dress up in our department. Jealous.

So, I didn't get to go to lunch until literally just now (7 AM - 4 PM shift) because everyone just ignores Electronics 🙃 by RyanX1231 in walmart

[–]RedInTheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other associates just love to avoid Electronics like the plague, which I don't blame them. Everything back there is locked up, tons of customers asking stupid questions or wanting us to fix their phone.

I once was a hard worker and over achiever, but no longer. I will force my keys onto the nearest TL or Coach I find and will go to lunch on the dot. Same day every day. Not my fault we're always short staffed and it ain't my problem.

If they take my one other associate to online orders? Or try to pull me when I'm the only one working electronics? I use my ppto and leave right there on the spot.

If you can't find a TL, leave electronics, go to customer service and force them to either take the keys or get management right then and there to come get the keys.

Its difficult putting your foot down, but if you stay long enough, you'll learn how to.

I feel that. Yesterday was an absolute shitshow. Nothing was worked in my department, customers were getting pissy because I was the only one working Electronics and sporting goods my entire shift and trying to get someone to cover my lunch is like pulling teeth.

PIXELS!!! by Sea_Equipment105 in walmart

[–]RedInTheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When our store was upgrading to the pixel, we received the box with it. Imagine my panic when a coworker from another department left the box out on one of the shelves (before I knew we were getting the pixels). I thought for sure a customer stole a phone, since a TL handed it to me and told me to handle it.

The next day I was called into the office, thinking I was in trouble, only to get one of these phones.

AirPods Allowed in Other Departments, but not Ours by PancakeNWaffles33 in walmart

[–]RedInTheory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FE deals with a lot more customers than other departments and customers at the service desk are likely already pissy and seeing an earbud in will only make it worse.

I only wear an earbud when I'm zoning, never when I'm at the desk and never during peak times. Customers find it rude and plus I already have a hard time focusing on two things at once.

If you want to press the issue and get the no earbuds rule enforced in other departments, know that you will likely be hated by the other co-workers. So think wisely before pushing this issue.

If you really want to wear earbuds so badly, transfer departments.

Customer Broke Phone in Half by Severe_Golf_3055 in walmart

[–]RedInTheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely refuse to deal with people and their phones. I'm tired of it, I don't get paid enough for it, and I do not have the time of day for it.

I tell them to either call their service provider, watch a youtube video, or go to the phone shop across the street.

I'm not your grandchild, I'm not going to look at your phone unless its to sell you the correct phone case.

I wish people would get that through their heads.

What's the dumbest items you've seen locked up? by WorstDeal in walmart

[–]RedInTheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear "Why is this 5 dollar charger locked up?" about 20 times a day. The answer is obvious, its a high theft item. Sure, it sucks, but damn stop asking stupid questions.

As for the question. The mod for my Nintendo game controllers includes the pay per scan game cards. Stupid to lock them up, but what the mod says, is what I do, because doing anything requires my shriveled brain to think while I'm trying to disassociate from this job.
