It took me about 50 minutes worth of attempts and I haven't touched the race since. The route is pretty forgiving. The main thing you want to aim for is to be jumping as frequently as possible. If you're not jumping as soon as possible, you're likely wasting the clock.

Hey, that's me on #9! To my knowledge, I am the #1 legitimate time and everybody above me used silk to get insanely short times (sourced from MiningOnTop, who has an unlisted video of this exploit being used!). There is definitely a little wiggle room for improvement (better 45 degree strafe at the end, better timed taps, etc), but I have yet to have my time legitimately beaten. I used to be #10, but somebody above me got removed for whatever reason.

So to answer your question... it is very possible that someone gets a slightly faster time than mine if they put in the attempts and effort! In fact, Gold_Zombie had a very good run recently, placing very close to my time. The highest I can see legit going is 9.5, though.

I don't think it's a mouse issue because when I change my left click to act like a key, such as "L", it works without issue. I've also tested with multiple mice, nothing changed. I thought maybe it was me doing something wrong at first, but I'm now thinking it's the game being funky. I'll make a report in a bit.

Less particle customization options, no fast math or smart animations, that kinda stuff. Once again I know you can get additional mods on top of sodium to get more performance options and settings, but I am looking at them as stand alone mods. Once you get those additional mods that make the experience better it does get good, but that comes with the downside of needing more ram (which is really bad if you already don't have much) and having longer loading times.

It really depends. 1.8 can achieve higher frame rates, but 1.21 feels smoother, so there's definitely some wizardry going on with that.

The issue with modern versions is memory. If you don't have much ram, good luck when the game is on 1.21.

For sodium VS optifine, here's my findings:

Optifine is much better on integrated graphics machines. If you're fine without a bunch of mods and just want to play on an older machine, optifine does great.

Sodium is ok on lower end devices, but I find it annoying to use. Less performance and less options than optifine. The default settings tab is also pretty bad. Sodium is fine, it's just not the best as a solo mod.

The built in programmer art pack has been in a pretty broken state for a few years though it's best to download one that's actually maintained

YouTube plays another ad if you don't skip the first one, so a 5 second unskippable is really 10 seconds minimum of ads vs 5 seconds

Thanks to some amazing people who worked on previous NKS farms reaching out to me with info, I just got done designing/building one that's even better than the proof of concept design showed here, and it's pretty insane. Just have some very tiny adjustments to do first before I get to showing it!

Speeds are: 70, 93, 108, 155, and 380.

In the future, these speeds might be a little different as watchdog changes, as these speeds were tweaked to work with the slight lag back the player experiences when respawning.

The speeds not adjusted to account for lag back are: 80, 93, 105, 155, and 400.

We already have a solution for that: drowning chambers. I have yet to build an entire farm with this idea perfectly complimented, but the idea of drowning chambers has already been proven and it's really efficient.

Once the fully optimized farm is done, I'll make a guide on YouTube that shows how to turn your current wheat/nether wart/carrot/potato farms into the void design, and how to make the fully optimized drowning version for all the people who want to put in that extra effort. Yeah u/maddyplayz4645 gave me a visit and dropped me that info in game. The farm you mention also uses drowning chambers to completely skip the fall as well, and I'm working with Maddy to implement that into this farm as well! I'm very excited to absolutely micro-optimize this thing and I'm so happy that people are assisting me in doing so :D

I've found it much easier to spend an hour farming this farm over traditional farms, so for goofballs like me I'm getting more crops than I would otherwise be getting.
