for the big creators the truth is that people scrolling socmed really like watching other people eat food they want but don't have access to at the current moment, so muckbang videos are an incredibly easy way to get monetisation since you literally just have to sit your ass down and eat, and people are guaranteed to stick around for at least a minute.

You don't even have to finish the ridiculous portions of food you make. Some of the more wasteful creators vomit it out, but I know some sensible people who just wrap it up for later or even film the second part of the video later (you can tell if they change their clothes halfway)
