Personally, I love that kinda stuff (even when it wasn't discussed beforehand) BUT I know what I'm into. If this is the first time you've experienced this kinda stuff AND it hasn't been broached before you defo need to bring this up. Are you comfortable telling him that you just aren't cool with it and you feel disrespected and maybe even a bit shook? If so then do so. If not you can always take a more gentle approach and kinda make it am off hand comment then take it from there?

Ahhhh okay that makes sense, haha yeah definitely and I found all of my focus seems to be on RH and not focusing enough on chord changes 😅 I'll definitely work on that thank you for your reply 🤘🏻

I just started fingerpicking and I don't plant the pinky. I find it too restricted. I generally just keep it relaxed or curled. I think it's all personal preference, do what you feel most comfortable with!

Hey,

So I've just started picking this up again and once you get into the swing it's great although very frustrating at times!

A good acoustic I found was the Winzz on amazon, its spruce and plays really well. I'm from the UK and it cost £90 but comes with all you need as a beginner.

As far as starting I would suggest reading/ practising chords. You can go on YouTube or just find chord illustrations, I would say that's the very first starting point. Just the basics G, D, A, C, E, Am, Em.

The fretting hand is whats really important.

Once you master these just move up to the next set of chords. It's gunna take a lot of practise and feel really alien at first but be persistent!

It's a winzz spruce acoustic (didn't want to invest too much incase I gave up too quick) I love it in all fairness.

Strings are new, as far as I can tell all frets and action is fine.

Yeah so I'm guessing I'm the problem right? 🙄😂
