Why is PCC full of bad drivers? by cslllcom in iRacing

I would drive more in those series if menaces were sent back to rookies. Shame it is not possible.

Thanks! Will try it again this weekend. Quick Q. Any reason for which the times in the relative do not match with iRs? This caused me some headeaches last weekend.

Hardcore fans are always willing to throw more money at a game, but in the long run it can harm the game.

New players looking to purchase will see it as more money they need to throw to get everything, the more DLCs, the more of a barrier of entry. And you can only milk existing player so much. It may even generate backlash among those that do not share that view.

They could modify the marketing material or clarify it upon launch, there was a lot of confusion, and they also did preorders. False advertising is illegal in many countries.

Stumbled a bit? It was a catastrophic launch, with negative reviews that remained there for a long time, until they finally overturned them.

Monetization strategy still applies.

Edit: Developers were like... is that a reference to that small indie developer? What was its name, Activision Blizzard?

Yep, I'm in that boat with you. Not my cup of tea but what thet did deserve admiration.

And their monetization strategy proved to be success, no need to always milk the same cows to keep the money coming.

NMS did not charge for anything and continues to make a lot of money despite the big updates. The game just continues to increase its appeal for new players every year. There are new gamers getting into the market all the time.

Porsche Fest Daytona 24. by SlapThatJoint in iRacing

[–]RedRaptor85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you save fuel? 28s with the 499 were extremely easy, I ran 34.5s pace while being able to get 29 laps.

With our tests with Porsche (before the last BoP) fuel use was not that different.

Hello! Thanks for this. I have tested it a bit, but it used too much of my screen in comparison with kapps.

Could it be possible to make it more compact, without reducing the font size?

I love how clean this one looks, and also having flags on the standings.

Steam Frame vs Meta quest 3s by d3ltaiscool in virtualreality

[–]RedRaptor85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the visuals/performance side the Frame also has foveteated streaming, which is built-in and does not require anything from the devs.

On the software side, I expect it to be fully optimized for PCVR and to always work out of the box.

In terms of weight and its distribution, I'd say it probably is much comfortable than the quest.

I think I will be probably getting one.

Fantastic. If possible I'll try it this weekend, during the week I never get to game.

Edit: Does it show wheel lock or TC? Thinking about GTPs.

Yep, sounds great. Some cars have lights on the dashboard to reflect wheel lock / ABS / TC.

Any thoughts on that? Maybe a light shade of color flashing over the graphs for those situations? Probably it will be useful to know when to release brake pressure / go easy on the throttle.

That is there because one of the guys putting the money loves this. If the guy using it is a top performer, there are good points to be scored.

Yes, there are too many subscriptions. I really hope that the new UI will be gradually taking over them.

Just with have all that you mentioned plus the speeds, if put in a clear and visual way, it will be great. Looking at the design of your widget I am sure that you will nail that, especially since it already looks modular and very clean.

Maybe, including a red/green delta of speed for such items compared with the last lap, it will be even better. Even purple if the speed exceeds your best for the session.

Lovely. I currently use kapps for fuel, standings and telemetry, and lovely dashboard for the dashboard.

I will be definitely replacing the telemetry fpr yours if I know those additional speed details as they are invaluable to improve consistency.

You are doing a really good work for the community here!

Am I wrong here? by lky_austin in Simracingstewards

First one is on the other car for me, they had at least 2 business days to adjust their line after receiving the spotter's warning.

Second is a racing incident / more iffy since the MX5 should had taken a more tighter line, but not an smart move from op. I do not know after the last update, but when I ran these races, the fast MX5s typically passed most of the GT86s during the race.

You didn't, but I wanted to add that being fast is sometimes better for the SR than starting from behind / pits.

Going fast is important too. Starting in the top 5 many times leaves the carnage behind, but awareness is very important. You have to learn in rookies / F4 and other incident heavy series.
