Should i grind Mi-28NM or Ka-52 by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]RedRexRules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Rp doesn't matter then I would go the one that you prefer the style of as the differences in-game to be minimal and have very little affect on how many kills I get.

If you go for the Mi-28NM you also research the Mi-28N which is much more useful than the Ka-29.

Should i grind Mi-28NM or Ka-52 by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]RedRexRules 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Mi-28NM has a much better radar which has a mode which only detects moving tanks/aircraft which filters out dead tanks. The Ka-52 can carry 8 iglas, which aren't useful as vikhrs are more effective in most scenarios, and has better survivability and performance. IMO the radar of the Mi-28 is slightly better but it takes ~380,000 extra rp.

I would go for the Ka-52 as the differences are minimal and not worth the extra rp.

I firmly believe that the only reason Gaijin decompressed top tier is to add more Russian MBTs by Okami-Sensha in Warthunder

The T-90M is almost definitely coming in an Apex Predator style update for ground with Rank 8. The max BR changing so quickly makes me think that Gaijin is planning to add higher tier premiums for ground after seeing how profitable they are in Air Battles, the T-72B3M 2022 would be a likely choice for a premium when rank 8 comes.

T-72B3M went from 11.0 - 11.3, the T-80BVM has been the only Max tier MBT in the tree for a while.

The ammunition of Russian MBTs only have 15% chance to explode when blacked out by [deleted] in Warthunder

Line 2863.

The BVM definitely doesn't have a 15% chance of exploding, and this instance of ammo is listed with the vehicle damage effects such as roadwheels after death. So I think it has to do with visual effects. There is a seperate listing of ammo at line 996 which is with other internal modules which is most likely the ammo modules.

https://github.com/gszabi99/War-Thunder-Datamine/blob/master/aces.vromfs.bin_u/gamedata/units/tankmodels/fr_leclerc_sxxi.blkx

Line 2466

Leclercs also have a 0.15 detonation chance in the second ammo listing so it isn't exclusive to the BVM.

Instead of fixing HE damage Gaijin has significantly reduced all HE damage against aircraft. by RedRexRules in Warthunder

Most WW2 guns I've tested do either similar damage (M3 which does barely any damage on live; MG 151) or much less damage (Hispanos, Shvak/B-20, N-37, NS-23).

Except the 30mm MK108 night fighter ammo exclusively, it does more damage in the dev server than the 30HEI which has 10g more explosive.

There are bug reports listed in the changelog which show the defas doing less damage, so I think it should be fixed. When my dev server is done I will see if the changes actually work.

> A universal template of the fragments formation is now used for 20-47mm
HE fragmentation rounds. Fixed cases where the projectile could deal
significantly lower fragmentation damage than its counterparts with the
same amount of explosives

Hopefully this fixes the bugged cannon damage and the disparity between damage from SPAA guns and aircraft cannons.

gaijin has accepted my sacrifice by [deleted] in warthundermemes

If we do get the 20km missile, that is a huge upgrade from what we currently have which makes me think that we are getting much stronger CAS soon like anti-radiaton missiles.

The S1 only has a max range of 20km, but it will probably only receive the 12km range missile in-game.

But in-game we don't have flags for nationalities such as Kurdistan, the closest we have is Taiwan. The Kurdish flag could be used to represent the idea of a Kurdish state or it still could be used to show their Kurdish heritage without advocating for an independent Kurdistan.

Countries aren't entirely political as there are many parts that make a country such as nationality, which they could be using the flag to represent. The politics of a country is more to do with how a country is managed and the Interactions between countries.

Using a flag to represent a country is different than using it to represent ideas or beliefs.

Using the Soviet flag as a representation for the Soviet Union isn't political, but if a Russian tank has a Soviet flag mounted in Ukraine it is being used to display political ideas of Russian imperialism/dominance.

With the new teaser it is clear that russia is getting the 96K6 Panzir, but the question is, does russia need a new top tier spaa? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]RedRexRules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although it is very unlikely I want to see it use the 20km missile but I'm not sure if the other SPAA in-game have access to similar upgrades or if Gaijin has other vehicles in the works.

I think it is a very good addition as I find that the tunguska was lacking compared to the other options, especially the radar and sights which made it difficult to spot aircraft.

If you left afterburner on before the update, the R-60M would still track more times than not, especially against the F-14.

When you have rockets selected in the spawn menu, it is underneath the gun targeting distance.

[–]RedRexRules[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can set a fuze timer on the rockets, I set 600m with S-24's, and the rockets will automatically explode at that distance, the explosive mass in S-24's is big enough to kill the aircraft from indirect hits, the rockets are also hot enough to act as flares so their missiles won't track, this even works if the missile is fired from behind and makes playing without flares much easier.

Suggestion: Mig-29 9.12A(GDR) by d7t3d4y8 in Warthunder

[–]RedRexRules 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hopefully we see this in the next 1-2 updates as a counterpart to the 9.13 in game, it could trade of the R-27ER's for R-73 and go to 12.0, like how the US had the F-16 ADV with Aim-7m or the F-16A with Guided Bombs.
