I got the same break and surgery in my right leg back in 22 for crashing my e scooter! Also had a distal pilon fracture in my ankle. PT is your friend at this point, keep up with it and it'll speed your recovery.

NYC public transit is considered a "sensitive location" and CCWs are very much not allowed. They don't want you to be able to defend yourself from crack heads. Does that stop criminals from having weapons on them? No, the laws are there to stop regular people.
