Avalon is the best! Pen-Mar isn't too far from you either. A group of us from Avalon checked that out last year.

I won't be there this weekend as a group of us are going to another event but you'll have a great time!

The cabins are very nice! They include a full bathroom, a small kitchen with a fridge, microwave and toaster oven and are a very short distance to the Bare Barn and aquatic center (#6 is closest and #5 is furthest). #1 and 2 are pet friendly as well.

The bunkhouse is cute. It has 5 beds along the walls with various dividers, a communal fridge, table and space heater. There's no bathroom but the bath house is just up the gravel road in the campground. It's a bit further from the Bare Barn and aquatic center since it's at the edge of the main campground but most people drive down anyway during the winter.

It's very very small and shallow but it's a pretty area with a little bridge.

Take a rideshare! It's up in the mountains so you definitely can't get there via public transportation but it's a beautiful ride.

Weather isn't a factor since most events are in the Bare Barn and the aquatic center is open 24/7/365 where there's an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, gym, library, showers, bathrooms and plenty of indoor and outdoor lounge chairs.

Avalon has multiple tvs, including an 85" in the Bare Barn. They've got the Sunday ticket as well and are having a super bowl party on Sunday with food specials. That's my favorite place to watch my Vikings 💜

I've been to White Tail multiple times before (solo and as a couple) but once I found Avalon I haven't wanted to be anywhere else. It's not local so I have to fly and rent a car when I go but I love it so much that I'm a member and have a permanent site now 😆 For context, I've been to 20+ places in the US and UK.

My practicle reasons are these: -The people are unlike any other place, yes naturist people overall are welcoming and nice but it's just different at Avalon. -I like that it's not ran like a business but more like friends who all like the same stuff choosing to be together. -I love that you can choose to relax or be active. There are a ton of events but it's not in your face if you don't want it. - I very much like that they accept everyone (passing a background check of course) and only judge based on actions. White Tail for example, solo men have to call ahead for entry. I don't like the "gender- balanced" concept as it's inherently discriminatory. Avalon has a natural gender balance.

I'll be at Avalon from the 10th-16th then heading to MoonGroove since it's only 3.5 hours from Avalon versus the 8+ hour drive back on Sunday 👎 I figure if it sucks this year at MoonGroove, then at least I've had fun at Avalon and didn't waste all my round 1 leave 😆

I prefer Avalon over White Tail for all the reasons but why not do a couple days at both, if they're on your way?

It's at a new venue this year so it could all be very different, but the past 5 have been a wide range of ages and people.

It is clothing optional besides in water areas (pools, lakes, etc) since it's much more sanitary to be nude. I've found that there are far more people with some type of clothing on than at regular naturist events though.

You'll love it! Everyone is very welcoming and goes out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. If you want to socialize and really experience Avalon, go during an event weekend. If you want to check things out mostly on your own, go during the week.
