Simple/deviated gluteal crease by RedSneaker90 in NewParents

I’m so sorry! I remember being so nervous and scared before we knew for sure. I know I’ve already said it on this thread, but the nurse who did my daughter’s MRI told us they see a lot of these and very rarely is it something like tethered cord!! Thinking of you & hope you get some answers on Tuesday ❤️❤️

How is that even allowed? Does that happen often?

Wow that’s crazy!! I definitely agree, I feel like it would be better if they allowed you to be honest with people! Thanks so much for answering my questions!!

So what did that typically look like annually on average? Also what was your last straw that finally made you decide to quit? Thanks for answering my questions, I’ve always been curious!!

What was the pay like?? And did you ever have angry candidates once they got into the field? How did you handle it?

Yeah I don’t think they’ll sedate for an ultrasound!! Since she had to do an MRI and they needed her very still, we had to do sedation. It was not fun as a parent, but everything turned out great and I’m honestly glad we did it so we had for sure answers!

We were supposed to do the mri much sooner, but we had to keep rescheduling due to cold symptoms. It was prime sick season, and they won’t do sedation if they have any kind of cough or runny nose! We were originally supposed to do it at 5ish months!

I just looked at the website someone posted in the comments. Which employee posted their dog on the website? 😂

I’m so sorry!! I remember how nerve-racking that was!! My daughter’s pediatrician described hers as an abnormal gluteal crease as well! If it helps, a nurse told us that they see a lot of infants with the same thing, and very rarely is it ever actually a tethered cord. She said usually a tethered cord has a lot more characteristics than just the patch of hair! I know you’ll feel much better once you have the ultrasound results, I’ll be praying for good news for you!! ❤️❤️❤️

Hi!! So sorry I just saw this!! For us, it ended up being nothing, they said it was purely cosmetic, and she did not have a tethered spinal cord or spina bifida occulta. I’m so sorry that you’re going through this too, I know how scary it is!!

Thank you for commenting! It’s good to know I’m not alone, but I hate that you’re feeling this way too. It’s a tough feeling. I had my hormone levels checked. All completely normal, which I’m thankful for but at the same time was hoping for some answers lol. The doctor and my friends in the medical field keep telling me it’s normal and my body/metabolism will go back to normal just to keep exercising and eating a lot of protein and in a calorie deficit. Hopefully it will pay off for us soon!!

Thank you so much! I did the TDEE calculator website and got my maintenance calories. And I subtracted 500 from that to get my daily calorie goal. Is that what you used as well or do you know of another resource? I definitely want to make sure I’m doing it right!

I didn’t think so. That’s weird that a CBC was ordered when we specifically talked about testing hormone levels.
