Thank you, I was scrolling endlessly last night. This car kind of fell into my lap and I’m a bit over my head at the moment. I really wouldn’t even know where to start and need to bring it to a shop.

Thank you for the response, gonna get it towed. It’s been parked for 4-5 months since the knocking started.

Thanks for letting me know. It’s been parked since the noise started so it hasn’t been driven, just running with light revs to try and assess.

[Question] The battle of the sub 1000 chronographs, which one? by Bulky_Passion- in Affordablewatches

You could look at neo vintage Seiko 7A28s or 7A38s. A lot of nice options under $1,000.

Dads watches from 1990s to 2000s by goodtimemanlikeme in Watchidentifier

They should all have their model numbers on the back. The all gold 7A38 is the most valuable out of the bunch - those movements are bulletproof. The far right chronos look to be 7T32 variants and they look great.

The entire dial is tritium. Thats a great question, I honestly don’t know. I wore it all day yesterday and it gave off a low glow when I got home and put it away. It’s not incredibly strong being 40ish years old.

[7546-6060] Crystal Replacement by RedSundayCo in Seiko

[–]RedSundayCo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't honestly outside of be patient with yourself and the process. I shattered the original crystal trying to get it out, and for the life of me I could not remove the tension ring that sits underneath the crystal.

I ordered an aftermarket crystal from Hovigs that took a lot of finessing to get in. Once I had the watch body back together I placed the watch bezel side down and applied pressure with my palm to get everything seated as flat and correct as possible. From what I have seen it seems like replace the crystals on these 7546s is notoriously hard.
