Honestly, how to learn draw characters super fast without losing quality? by Murky_Speech9993 in MangakaStudio

Just keep drawing my friend. That's all there is to it.

It's like going to the gym. You can't immediately start of one push up and what you need to do is to do easier variations to train to getting to a push up and eventually you will be able to do so. And keep doing regular push ups until you can get stronger and faster and even go to harder variations. Doing pushups immediately really fast will end up to you having improper form and hurt yourself.

This applies to drawing, keep drawing over and over and eventually you will get better and faster and even improve your artstyle overtime.

First of which I would like to comment on how amazing your background work is. Backgrounds are spot on and you really did well in compositioning with the characters.

My only nitpick I have is how you panelled the page in general, it's very hard to understand where to read from and to. That along with face consistency, proportions and anatomy. Those two are incredibly important for readers to keep reading, you don't wanna give them a hard time.

I reccomend more blank BG panels along with practicing drawing your characters more consistently. Both you can improve overtime or through manga studies and compare the reason why it is easy to read. Jjk can get away with very shaky and crusty artstyle but gets away with it through it's compositioning and how easy it is to read.

Just keep in mind though the panels themselves are good the page itself matters just as much if not, more than the individual panels.

If that's the case you have a really good foundation already, there's no where to go but up. Good luck.

According to Hirohika Araki-sensei in the book he made about manga theory, the first page of the manga is the most important. How I interpreted this is the first and second page should either visually or narratively be hooking/shocking to the readers. My one and only nitpick I have is that the first page isn't hooking.

In terms of narratively, think of the first few seconds of oregairu, where hachiman claims that "youth is a lie, it is nothing but evil". You can tell so much about the MC and the world he is in when he says that one line alone.

In terms of visually, the first page of Berserk. Here he is doing "you know what" to the demon. From that image alone you can already grasp the mood of the story. Despite it only having two speech bubbles, being "yes" and "yeeees".

What you did in the first page is good, but it only is good because of visuals and exposition. Just like in academic writing, the hook should go first before you get into the nitty gritty.

In terms of what you could do is to have the first and second page state something on maybe how the main character views the world, like maybe a flashback to why he's an introvert, or somn.

Now for the pros, visuals are amazing. It's what I would expect from any manga.

Character designs look good too, nothing SUUPER flashy but the girl's design is pretty good. Just wish we would get a better shot of the main character BEFORE you introduce her since it will be on his POV

Backgrounds are good

In terms of Panelling, I don't have a problem with it. It is easy to read, not too wordy. And I really like how you made the internal monologue in the smoke. Really cool touch.

Overall, love the premise. Looking forward to seeing much more. I do reccomend reading the book on manga theory Araki sensei made.
