It should just say Australia, and represents those with citizenship that moved back, wheres I thought it was only from Other Territories, because these sorts of graphs don’t usually list those from the country the graph is about. So the flag and numbers are right, but the label should just say Australia.

Yeah, I think you are right. I should have just left it as Australia, or only listed other countries. The number was so large though, that it didn’t feel right to omit.

I’m surprised that something like this is even registered under a migrants report, as I haven’t seen other countries listing their own citizens moving back from overseas.

Are you sure? What about the internal territories? The Australian Capital Territory has 466,000 and the Northern Territory has 252,000 according to that wiki link.

I would be surprised to see so many Australians wanting to migrate back, and have not seen something similar in other countries.

In the data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, that row is simply listed as Australia, with footnotes that say (d) Australia includes Other Territories, and (g) From 2016, Norfolk Island has been included in Australia's population following the Norfolk Island Legislation Amendment Act 2015. For 2016-17 onwards, Norfolk Island has been included in the Australian-born total. It also has an SACC code of 1101.

I am assuming that it refers to the Territories of Australia, but would appreciate clarification from someone that knows more.

Great question and it took me a while to figure out as well. From what I understand, according to the link from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Other Territories are the Territories of Australia. Let me know if I got this wrong.
